  1. Definitely think I will be trying out some Cadence soon. Have heard such good things.
  2. Great news! Really fantastic to see the team getting invites to races across the globe!
  3. Quick question regarding cassettes. When I purchased my first road bike last year I didn't really look too much into different cassette options, but long story short the bike I got came with a Shimano 10-speed 12-30t cassette. This was great for me, as when I bought the bike I had only been cycling a few months and my fitness was exceptional low, so the small gears helped me get up hills and let me spin when I was tired. However, 9 months later I am a lot fitter and consistently doing over 150/200km a week and I find that I am now using the 30t just because it is there and I feel it may be hampering me improve. I also feel that I am "missing" a gear or two in the middle of the cassette. I have looked into options and it seems that my only real options are an 11-25t or 12-27t. I'm a little scared of going to a 25, as I may struggle and not enjoy it, but investing in a new cassette is not something I want to do regularly, so wonder if the 27t would be too easy after a while. Any advice would be great! Thanks.
  4. There are many things in life I don't understand that I have come to terms with. However, I will never, ever understand how Farhaan Berhardien makes it into our cricket team. He has been given far to many chances and just never performs.
  5. Very well deserved! Been waiting for this day for a while.
  6. So, next week I'm heading up to Hermanus with my family for a little New Years holiday and I'm dead keen to get some riding in. I haven't been to Hermanus since I started riding, so don't have much idea about what the good rides are. I'm pretty keen to try ride to Betty's Bay and back, but I'm not sure how safe the roads are this time of year? Are they any hidden gems? I'm not really keen to put down huge miles, just casual morning rides with maybe one or two longer ones. Any knowledge/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  7. Road Bike Party 2 is way better.
  8. This is seriously disappointing news. The exact same thing happened with the SA Tennis Open and Soweto Tennis Open a couple of years ago. Sponsors pulling out (or being forced to pull out) leaving the event high and dry. I think it would be great if another corporate or event government department jumped in to sponsor this event. It amazes me how SA only has 1 UCI race. We can't let this 1 become a 0.
  9. I'm gonna go against the grain here and say I quite like it. Yes it looks football, but its very different to anything in the peloton right now and at the end of the day these teams only ride because sponsors are paying them. The more your kit stands out the happier sponsors are. I think I will reserve my final judgement until I see the team in the peloton with all the other kits though. Oh, the SA National champs jersey is shocking though.
  10. RIP Phil Hughes. Also, spare a thought for Sean Abbot - I can't imagine what he is going through.
  11. Anyone seen the new Hunger Games film? My girlfriend is very keen to go see - I on the other hand am not so sure...
  12. Great to see two of SA's biggest talents take the prize! As great as it is to have a host of International riders in the race, it a South African who needed to win!
  13. Some really dodgey fielding positioning by de Villiers in the final 7 or so overs too - they hadn't done their homework on Faulkner.
  14. As the commentators said, 270 was a par score on the pitch. We didn't have enough runs. Miller went out playing a silly shot and the same can be said of de Villiers. I think our bowlers will get a lot of criticism for the result, but we were in a position to score 300, which would have given our (not full strength) bowling line-up a better chance. That said, Abbot was brilliant.
