Report Back: The session I had this morning was informative and helpful. He's offered to look at my current program to see where we could help each other. I have had two Silverback - hardatil - bikes and loved them both. I now have a Merida soft-tail and a Giant Hardtail. It is still early days for the Giant - not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling about her, whereas the Merida feels a lot more smooth... So, on the Silverback issue... So, build quality issues - none that I'm aware of. Price versus value - great. Comparison versus other brands...not even going to try... I'd suggest that if you have an issue with any brand, pick it up with them. If you want to play ping-pong - ask Tim Henman.

Thank you all for the response. Think I'll stick to non straight-pull spokes and away from Mavic hubs. Was looking at the SLX hubs as well...was put off with the spoke type. Anyway, looks like "hope" if I can afford or XT if I can't wait. cheers
