  1. Hey bud. Is the beta rating out yet?
  2. I rode in the C bunch .. The first confusion was on Madiba Street where the was a left turn onto Steve Biko for the 98km route. We almost went straight on with the short distances riders. Then after TJ climb, I was solo while passing a few short distance riders. I can almost guarantee I seen the road marked on Eastwood street said 98km was straight, whereas everybody went left. I followed the road marking little to find out I was lost and had to find my own way back onto the route.. Other than this, I think this is a fantastic route. Challenging but not too insane. The front of C really put me in the red zone. Made it with them to the highway and then got dropped with a teammate..
  3. Hahaha so cute. This just made my day!
  4. Strade Bianche is gonna be live on SS. Yay
  5. Are the SA Road Champs normally broadcasted live?
  6. Soooo. When's the first one....
  7. Thanks for the tips.. I did realise this year I have not done many hills, and probably why I suffered on the climbs.. Only reason for cutting down was, I was feeling burnt out and was not recovering well.. Been training majority on my own which makes sense why I can't stick when there are surges in the group.. Ah well, back to the drawing board, and better training for 2017 I guess..
  8. The build up was not the best I must admit.. 3 weeks before, so basically the week after Amashova, I did 3 tough sessions and felt quite abit of fatigue. I didn't recover enough and I cut down on training during the last 3 weeks to try and get some fresh legs.. Strava activities logged. Ebrahim Omer. If you wanna analyse some more ;-)
  9. A buddy of mine, averaged 180bpm. More or less same stats as mine and same age.. But his HR is generally higher than mine on training..
  10. I was going on the limit most of the way.. i should mention my age is 26.. So yeah mostly zone 4 all way, with not enough voomah to even kick at the end.
  11. I gave it my all from D batch.. Couldn't stick with any big bunches so to say. So, tried to work with few people here and there.. Was in for Sub3 upto about the last third of the race where I almost cramped and lost about 3mins.. Also ran out of water during the last 20km or so.. Ended on 3:02.. Weight - 59kg Height- 170cm Avg Cadence - 100rpm Avg HR - 174bpm Max HR - 191bpm Max Speed - 79kmh No power meter unfortunately.. Struggled on the hills this time surprisingly..
  12. Yay! A nice wheel to suck :-P
  13. So if u get to the start pen early enough, and by the time people start pushing their way in, and u end up in the middle. What do you do? Go from the side to get back in front? Or just calmly stay put and make friends with the people around?
  14. Do you have to cross over dust paths/gravel to get to the start pens? Last year I punctured while warming up, with those thorns, I'm just fearful it may happen again..
  15. I may be wrong, but I previously recall reading that the Steyn City speed bumps were gonna be flattened out or removed. Now an email stating to slow down for the speed bumps?
  16. Are there any places one can park away from the venue whereby one doesn't have to walk over dusty paths to the start?
  17. Hey man I just seen your racetec times. Its pretty impressive. And just a handful of races under the belt. You deserve to be there and I'm sure you're gonna smash it being a climber.. The guys who are strong on the flats generally take abit of strain with all the elevation
  18. I'm also 6:27 in D start.. I was hoping to get there by 5am. And have my breakfast at 5:40 in the pen ???? lol
  19. In your guys experience. To be in the first third or so of the start pen, how much time before the start will one need to be in the pen?
  20. Reminds me of the 1km to go at TDF..
  21. Do RaceTec actually clean up these results? I've seen quite a few fishy results on RaceTec (some impossible), which just stays there. I guess RaceTec need to start using tracking chips hahaha
  22. I wouldn't have thought u needed more?
  23. Exactly what happened to me at R4V. I was properly done for! But hey, what doesn't kill you... I think all preps should more or less be done for me now and just to try and be fresh for that sub3 947.. The nerves already phew..
  24. That oke you mention from AL, could've started in D group. Dion Guy. From PainCave in Benoni.. What a machine of a rider..
  25. I echo all the appreciation as the rest of the comments. Thanks again GW and organizers.. Team S4 had a fun day out. Rode from NL. We had riders completing their first century in that brutal wind. Tried to help pull as many riders as we could. Pity about our 1 small fall that caused 1 of our riders a DNF due to cracked bike frame.. To the Team S4 crew, well done!
