  1. Edit: Saving some embarrassment. Lol
  2. However I will be using the advice given here on this group about pacelines etc
  3. I'm also doing the Double90 with my team.. Also none of the I-Team members
  4. Is there gonna be another I-Train at Emperors Palace Classic?
  5. Quite ideal for the route. I see they are also avoiding the busy Rondebult Road towards the end of the race. Except for one slight issue. There will be loads of intruders joining in on the fun. I for one hopped onto a huge peleton during this year's race and they pulled me all the way (yikes)
  6. Wish I could join, but I'm busy doing some treatment for my groin injury. Hope the fitness doesn't drop too much during my time off the bike..
  7. WRT the split times.. They were not far off. For me, the split times need to be faster upto the M1. (Around 7mins) Considering Monkey on a bianchi was 4 to 5 mins ahead of me at that stage. And 1 min faster on the last 20km strava segment. Meaning he was 5 or 6 mins faster than me in total. And he missed it by 2mins. I missed it by 7 mins.
  8. Somehow I can't find this segment on my strava. *confused*
  9. Thanks. I do have a social cycling club (Team S4). But would be cool to ride with different clubs/cyclists and learn alot I suppose
  10. Yes true. No traffic. Awesome hill training and descending. Nice and accessible. I'd be keen on this on any Sunday. Unfortunately Saturday i work from 9am..
  11. I'm all the way from Boksburg. A bit far out for me too. Perhaps 1 Sunday every few weeks would be cool.. Any1 else closer to me willing to do training rides closer to home, let me know
  12. The fun was in the casual nature of this I-Team There will be advantages and disadvantages of using a specific shirt/kit -easily recognised which obviously makes it easier to group riders together -costs involved -less outsiders hopping in to the group while riding -riders who wanna join last minute -riders who have other causes to support To name a few Yes I think this idea should definitely continue . Perhaps the next race can be made as a target and those willing to join with similar 'realistic' goals could work towards it. As mentioned before, stronger riders can volunteer to act as ride captains if they are willing to sacrifice their ride for the benefit of others, trying to reach their goals. Salute to the riders who have done so and will be willing to in future
  13. Hey guys and girls.. Was a tough ask to herd such a large group of riders of different fitness levels. Monkey on a Bianchi got 3:02 To the okes who managed to ride together well done.. And a HUGE thanks to Patch and Sheriff for pulling me . . You guys are legends! Managed 3:07. Quite happy. And overall fantastic ride. ScottC-M great ride too..
  14. I hope that everyone in the I-Train has read the tactics and discussions on this thread. But I'm gonna guess that not all have done so. ScottC-M, I suggest that you bring a couple cable ties just incase. Also, tomorrow at our meeting point, we'll need somebody to brief all the riders in our group and refresh our memory on tactics, who'll be doing alot of the domestique duties, time splits at key points, communication, etc. I doubt that everyone is following this thread completely.
  15. Tombeej hope u recover well in time and in full health to race. Incase of Tombeej not being able to help us out. We need someone else in charge? One of our strong riders to take the initiative. Excitement starting to kick in minute by minute now..
  16. Sorry guys I'm using my phone so I can't quote the post to add my PB. Best seeding index is 2015 Amashova 3:19
  17. Thanks for creating this.. Ebrahim Omer is my name, I have joined the club..
  18. Those responses help alot.. Many thanks.. Looking forward to race day
  19. Guys you have been awesome in providing so much info.. Thanks alot.. However with so much elevation in the last 25km or so, would it not be a better idea aiming for less than 2:17ish at Witkoppen? As to still do sub3, it would mean averaging +- 29 to 30kmh during the time when it hurts most. I've not done this race before so I'm sure you guys have a better idea anyway.
  20. Does anyone have the elevation over the last 25 or so km. The total ascent from 70km onwards..
  21. Yip I've been seeded in I. Lol. Yes I've done a good few races this year to bump the seeding up. .
  22. Add me to the group plz guys. Will be my 1st 947.
  23. Thanks for the info
  24. Anyone know what the total ascent is for this race?
