  1. Sharks lose to Kings, then put away the Stormers. SA rugby is more comical than I thought.
  2. Grapevine from my LBS is that the Kremertart might be returning next year.
  3. Kings beat Sharks
  4. Hard fought game but Lions take it 13-6 against Brumbies.
  5. Results are up on Spectrum sport.
  6. Really is a treasure and value for money. Photo's were done by actionmotion.photofrog.co.za when published.
  7. Don't qouate me on this but I hear the 70km route has changed from last year, still includes the climbs and forest section.
  8. Hurricanes appeared to be playing cat and mouse with the Stormers, from 22 all they added 19 unanswered points.
  9. Reminds me of last year when one of the riders pedal snapped before the finish, removing his helmet and walking next to his bike pushing it over the finish he was threatened with DQ. Nice to know CSA take note of real important stuff and not trifling stuff.
  10. IMO best local MTB race, I'm there.
  11. Number collection was available Wed, Thu,Fri,Sat and race day Sun,except for full licence who could not pick up on Sun, CSA rules, not ASG.
  12. Get to the front of the start group, you lose valuable time otherwise which will make the difference.
  13. 8000 might sound optimistic across both distances but not all who entered rode and also not everyone had chips particularly in the shorter distance where they rode more for fun than published result.
  14. Was aiming for sub 3, got 2.54 plus loose change in FL. Felt I could have got 2.50 but happy as it's my first long distance road race since 2015 947.
  15. Kings beat the Warratahs (champs in 2014) in Aus by 2 points, Aus rugby must be worse than I thought.
  16. Some races its difficult to detail before hand, some orgs only recover their unavoidable fixed costs (metro, timing, branding), and what ever is left goes to charity, the more that enter the more that goes to charity One such event is the Sedhaven in Heidelberg which raises money for Meals on Wheels. Tough enough but a real challenge when the wind blows. Early bird entrants also receive a gift which have been quality T shirts and even wind jackets the past few years. I consider this to be the best value for money local race.
  17. Gets worse, I know of someone that gave his chip to a rider (A bunch) who fitted it to his shoe while the rider had his own chip fitted on his bike. Reason ? Simple, to get a good seeding and early start time for 947, beats missing the wind and masses of a late start.
  18. I have seen a few entries for the Emperors going on some of the whattapps groups, sometimes you are lucky and the person is giving their number away. I see no issue with this as the race has been paid for, as for identification in case of an accident I carry ID with me on person and in my saddlebag.
  19. Yup, which is why I state most races have number collection on race day, exclusion been Lic riders but that is not my fight, they are the minority and the lic guys need to beg, plead and threaten their own case
  20. You have a permanent yearly lic BUT you also get a temp number for the actual race which you must attach to show that you are valid to run THAT race.
  21. In my case I started in the race batch that I took over, but did not advise the orgs of the change and using my own chip i received my results, showing that there is no link between the person who entered the race and the race results.
  22. You assuming everyone honest and will NEVER think of riding a race they have not officially entered. Easy get your "permanent" number start of the year and ride every race you want on the calendar without actually entering. Ah but what about timing you ask. Well screw timing for someone that just wants to ride a training ride, is not worried about timing so does not wear a chip BUT has all the advantages of marshals, WP etc.
  23. There is no link between race number and race time. I can use the number of someone who cant do the race number anymore and without going the substitution route, race and get a race rime. Been there, done that.
  24. Perhaps i was there around 2pm.
