  1. Cracker of a game on the go at the moment, half time Highlanders 19 Stormers 15.
  2. Did the route last week, fast and furious, without pushing too hard and few stops to regroup my ave was still good. IMO having done RFS, Carnival and Fast One I have found this to be flatter and faster. Good for seeding and time (sub 3 easily achievable) but down side is potential for more crashes.
  3. Some have not forgiven him for getting Sagan kicked out of TDF.
  4. R415 ?? Hosted by Lions with proceeds going to charity, Wilro Lions R250 early entry R280 late entry timed by racetec and collection on race day.
  5. I only need glasses for reading but can still see my Garmin without them so that's OK, I have prescription ones as my main glasses then a couple of Dischem ones dotted round the house and a pair in my car (some of those cycle store labels are minute). Every 2 years I'm eligible for new glasses, last time I went for an eye test they found my eyesight had not deteriorated. On the cycling side last year I accepted that with age you need to make some adjustments and one of them is I switched to compact crank on my road bike, best thing I could have done.
  6. Some serious concerns with the route particularly through Boksburg. Even without full closure traveling along Atlas onto Leeupoort (which houses a major taxi rank) it will also severely impact traffic along Trichardt and Rondebuilt roads the 2 major links between Boksburg bottom and top half. I'll probably ride it but safety first, treat every intersection as if you approaching a red robot and only proceed when you sure the other vehicles have stopped. 947 had communication on how to ease the reroute, good luck to the 100 cycle orgs on this one.
  7. Also over half a century, enjoying my riding more than 30's and 40's partly because I enjoy klapping guy half my age
  8. So not the day he became Springbok coach then. Really shows his commitment.
  9. Happens in every race. I look at road races as more of an uninterrupted semi solo ride but with added road safety and tend to stay clear of big bunches, if I do find myself in a bunch that gets too big or there are "cowboys" in it I drift to the back and let it go.
  10. To be fair most of the issues mentioned are out of orgs hands, timing, CSA officials etc. I found the organization on par with most other races.
  11. E Bike ??
  12. Looking at his position I remember your son, we started in A batch and traded places through the race, I've never done the short route and even though I did not give max effort I expected to do a lot better, Comparing the results last year there were 21 riders under 1.30, this year only 7 so i think the wind must have played a part.
  13. Results are up
  14. Did the 50km route with a mate. judging by the number of back end long distance riders that started off in their group but switched to the shorter distance at the split I can only guess Racetec have a job on their hands trying to clear up the results.
  15. There's a warning at collection point that they are busy with road construction leading to the start of the race so best arrange additional time to get there.
  16. One of the times I hope the weather forecast is wrong. Will wait and see what weathers like on Sunday before heading out. Rain early. Morning clouds. Warm. 26°C 15°C 13km/h SE 53% 26°C Low 11mm 49%
  17. Saves me a trip.
  18. 14. Race numbers must be worn low down on back of each participant’s jersey 26. The rules stated above are binding and the organisers, referees and traffic authorities’ ruling will be final and no correspondence will be entered into Unless this only applies to CSA Lic, never have I ever seen anyone sanctioned or kicked out
  19. Time to return the pink blouse.
  20. Just entered, no issues.
  21. Used to be Garmin were separate and you could take your unit direct to them, then they merged with Navworld, now it seems they have changed again.
  22. Billions season 3 starts soon.
  23. Sally, aka Silly Sally. Until a few minutes ago this was a perfectly good dish towel.
  24. Always a good and well run event. I'll pay the penalty fee and do a late entry, no telling what the weather will pan out to be.
