  1. Boks have a real match on their hands, down on possession and having to make more tackles.
  2. Boks need to settle down, they look rattled.
  3. The number 5 from France, totally idiot move. France on the attack, meters from the try line and he pulls that stunt.
  4. Shocking the AB's miss a conversion, there's hope still for Ireland.
  5. 34-0 less than 20 min to go.
  6. Ireland are really on a thumping to none and NZ normally ratchet it up in the 2nd half.
  7. NZ vs Ireland next, both have to bring their A game with Ireland having won 2 of the last 3 matches against each other.
  8. Expected an England win but not that margin.
  9. Not a comment you would expect from someone who is tasked to steer the ship. At a media briefing yesterday to explain why load shedding has returned and what Eskom plans to do about it, Mabuza responded to a question on whether he is the right person for his job by explaining that he didn’t apply for it and was there due to the decisions of President Cyril Ramaphosa and Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan. “Am I the right person? I would have applied for the job if I had the qualifications and I wanted it. I didn’t apply for this. South Africans and the president and the minister must make the call,” he said. https://citizen.co.za/news/south-africa/load-shedding/2193152/eff-calls-for-admittedly-clueless-mabuza-to-go/
  10. I've watched it a couple of times, and will still.

Caution to those travelling by car, plenty of traps on the N3.
  12. So confident I am that the Boks will make it to finals that I got this, failing which I'm sending the invoice to SA Rugby.
  13. Versus SA socks to go with my SA Cycling shirt.
  14. Not through lack of trying, of course there will be critics. But one has to ask why would a "right wing" organization who would love to see SA fail make such an initiation to save SA Solidarity plans to propagate the skills bank widely among its members, former members and their networks. “We plan to post it on overseas groups, and we call on South African embassies and missions to help register South African skills so we could have the opportunity to re-recruit them. Many of the experts are abroad for the time being only and would be keen to offer their skills in South Africa instead. Thousands of retired engineers and technicians in South Africa are also ready to offer their help,” Hermann said. According to Solidarity, the best investment that can be made in Eskom right now is an investment in top skills, even if it is only for the interim to ease Eskom out of its crisis. https://solidariteit.co.za/en/eskom-solidarity-offers-help-to-address-skills-shortage/
  15. I'm one of the lucky few in that they seem to have have forgotten about my area, since load shedding first began about 12 years ago we have been hit 2 or 3 times, one might even call it incompetence that they not able to stick to a schedule like other areas. Cable theft, now that's another story and regular occurrence.
  16. Cant comment for all races, but those I've been involved in running and cycling held for charity/cause all funds left over after costs(Metro, medals, timing company etc) are donated not % and the orgs do not take a slice.
  17. True, if an event breaks even its successful. Many races have disappeared due to not been economically viable. Transvaal Galvanizers used to host a MTB event for charity along the same tracks as your race but sadly sponsorship and rising costs make it uneconomic and very little or nothing when they run at a loss left for charity
  18. Found this on book face, its from 2013 but gives an idea of costs involved, little or none donated. Only cost I find a rip off is where a proportion of every riders entry fee is "donated" to CSA for the "privilege" of sanctioning it. Your Entry Fee into the 2013 Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge is R320.00 - breakdown: (R275.20 + R 44.80 VAT + CSA rider levy of R 6.00) · Registration process and year round Race Office to service your Cycle Challenge needs · 8km of fencing to keep the roads on the route closed · 4000 straw bales to keep the roads on the route closed · 3400 orange cones to close the route one block away from the route · 600 marshals – who need to be transported and dropped off at their points from 03:00 and picked up from 15:00 · 500 JMPD Traffic Officers · 300 toilets at the start/route/finish and 30 janitors to keep them clean · 300 security staff on route and at the venue · 200 medical staff on route and at the finish · 170 Physio and Chiro students and 12 qualified Physio’s and Chiro’s on route and at the finish · 120 Start Marshals - Start Team · 120 Finish Marshals - Finish Team · 35 Joburg Roads Agency staff to place and pick up the cones and road closure signage · 30 Traffic Free Flow officers to direct traffic · 30 Off Road Rescue Units who patrol the route, send communications to the Joint Operations Centre and sweep cyclists abandoning their ride · 25 Think Bikes patrolling the route and trouble shooting · 20 Sweep Vehicles with trailers and drivers · 20 bakkies to transport the 100 casual staff who physically place the fencing and bales in the intersections to effect road closure, from 00:00 – 06:00 · 10 Water points with Powerade, water, ice, toilets, rubbish bins and 50 support staff per point · 10 Megabus busses to assist with the sweep with drivers and route leaders. · Generators - providing power for lights; sound; catering at the Start and Venue · Route cleaning and recycling of waste. · Feeding and watering of all the staff mentioned above · Race number and race pack · Commemorative Medal · Goodie Bag at registration · Ice cold Beverage and water at the finish · We allow for 450 complimentary entries to previously disadvantaged communities, the physically disabled cyclists, mentally disabled cyclists, blind cyclists and we support the Fortune Five Cycling team – who last year all finished in under three hours.
  19. What about the goodie bag ?

    Rugby...

I do think the Irish game they were underestimated as Ireland did not play their strongest team believing they have it in the bag. When Ireland played Scotland both fielded their A group and Ireland thumped Scotland. I'm not much of a should have, could have but the result would have shown if the Irish A squad had run out against the Japanese instead.
  21. If you want goodie bags or other "freebee's" , do something like Kremertart or Meals on Wheels.
