  1. So not the day he became Springbok coach then. Really shows his commitment.
  2. Happens in every race. I look at road races as more of an uninterrupted semi solo ride but with added road safety and tend to stay clear of big bunches, if I do find myself in a bunch that gets too big or there are "cowboys" in it I drift to the back and let it go.
  3. To be fair most of the issues mentioned are out of orgs hands, timing, CSA officials etc. I found the organization on par with most other races.
  4. E Bike ??
  5. Looking at his position I remember your son, we started in A batch and traded places through the race, I've never done the short route and even though I did not give max effort I expected to do a lot better, Comparing the results last year there were 21 riders under 1.30, this year only 7 so i think the wind must have played a part.
  6. Results are up
  7. Did the 50km route with a mate. judging by the number of back end long distance riders that started off in their group but switched to the shorter distance at the split I can only guess Racetec have a job on their hands trying to clear up the results.
  8. There's a warning at collection point that they are busy with road construction leading to the start of the race so best arrange additional time to get there.
  9. One of the times I hope the weather forecast is wrong. Will wait and see what weathers like on Sunday before heading out. Rain early. Morning clouds. Warm. 26°C 15°C 13km/h SE 53% 26°C Low 11mm 49%
  10. Saves me a trip.
  11. 14. Race numbers must be worn low down on back of each participant’s jersey 26. The rules stated above are binding and the organisers, referees and traffic authorities’ ruling will be final and no correspondence will be entered into Unless this only applies to CSA Lic, never have I ever seen anyone sanctioned or kicked out
  12. Time to return the pink blouse.
  13. Just entered, no issues.
  14. Billions season 3 starts soon.
  15. Sally, aka Silly Sally. Until a few minutes ago this was a perfectly good dish towel.
  16. Always a good and well run event. I'll pay the penalty fee and do a late entry, no telling what the weather will pan out to be.
  17. We belong to the quality over quantity group.
  18. The day I start worrying what others think of my unshaven legs, saddle bag and what socks I'm wearing is the day i realize cyclists are a bunch fashion prima donna's. If it offends you then either overtake or fall back.
  19. CAPE TOWN - Amid regular reports of a growing brain drain at the South African Revenue Service (Sars), the tax-collecting agency has now confirmed that over 500 people left its employ in the first 10 months of the year. More than two-thirds are as a result of voluntary resignation. In response to a Parliamentary question from the Democratic Alliance, Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba, says at least a fifth left for other career opportunities. The revelation comes in the wake of a R50 billion revenue shortfall this year and controversy around Sars commissioner Tom Moyane. Sars says the Protection of Personal Information Act makes it unable to disclose the names of those who have left the service. At least 85 of those who left over the last 10 months have said they were leaving for personal reasons, while another 81 have chosen not to provide a reason for resigning. More than a fifth of the 506 employees who have left worked in customer service. But the revenue service has also lost at least 58 auditors, with an average of 17 years of experience, and 27 legal staff with more than 10 years of experience. Sars says it fired at least 40 people due to misconduct or incapacity, while 83 retired. http://ewn.co.za/2017/12/06/sars-lose-500-employees-in-10-months-mps-told
  20. IMO we are just as k@:k this year if not worse and the drop in rankings shows this. We have not beaten a team ranked higher than us, with all our wins coming from teams lower than us, 4 of our matches have been against France who have fielded the worst side they have in years, wins over Argentina and Italy (5 points adrift from us when the AB's are 10) are not exactly high five wins, Wales fielding a B team still beat us.
  21. When AC took over we were ranked 3rd in the world, we are now 6th and AC claims we making progress. He maintains we are doing better than last year, then how is it we now sit further down the ranks than when we started this year. ??
  22. AC is an icon for all stubborn and defiant people. Under his management the Boks have a 44% win rate (played 25, won 11, lost 12 and drawn 2). His tally compered to previous coaches with similar games played is poor pathetic. Heyneke Meyer: Played 24, won 17, lost 5, drew 2, for a win percentage of 71% Peter de Villiers: Played 25, won 17, lost 8, for a win percentage of 68% Jake White: Played 25, won 17, lost 7, drew 1, for a win percentage of 68% In 2016 the Boks won 4 games, this year the Boks have won 7 games, Italy who have fallen down the rankings to 14, Argentina who have seen a decline and have only won 8 of 27 games since last world cup and a French team at its weakest in years. Saturday they lost to a weakened Wales team with 6 of their first selection out How does he react ? I'm contracted to 2019 so I will not resign, he plays up the win tally from 4 (2016) to 7 (2017) and claims there is a healthy team environment and they are growing.
  23. Wales ahead 21-10 halftime, looks like another hiding is on the cards for the Boks.
