  2. I start getting irritated if there hasn't been movement on my order within 24 hours. I've almost come to expect an item to be waiting for collection by the courier a (working) day after placing the order. Or at the very least, an email update to say there's a stock shortage or similar. Having an online order processed and ready for collection by the courier on the same day shouldn't be the exception. Last week, I ordered a non-cycling related item (pet store) and received an email shortly afterwards to apologise that the item was out of stock (even though it said stock online). I was offered store credit or a refund onto my original payment method. As I needed the item and wanted to try get it from another store, I asked for a refund onto my card. It was processed within minutes and I received confirmation of the refund that day. That's great service (even if I didn't get what I wanted). There is no excuse for a lack of communication these days.
  3. Filthy Fondo in Riebeek-Kasteel πŸ‘Œ
  4. Loved that! Did the 50km route (first gravel race) and had a blast. The bug has definitely bitten.
  5. https://www.tablemountainbikers.co.za/product/dog-ears-gps-replace-broken-garmin-tabs/ I went down the "self-repair" route with the replacement dog ears part on my original (first) Garmin (Edge 500). Absolutely perfect solution.

  8. Absolutely pissing down in Stellenbosch since early this morning. Rather now than Saturday. πŸ˜‚ Looks like a wet next two days in Riebeek-Kasteel on YR. 🌧️
  9. Thanks, not sure what to make of that. Courage or stupidity. πŸ€”
  10. Ride the bike and replace stuff when things break. πŸ˜…
  11. In and around Stellenbosch on the gravel bike. πŸ‘Œ
  12. The forecast already changed. Maybe we can finish riding before the worst of the rain (and wind). 🀞
  13. Awesome, enjoy! πŸ‘
  14. Eish. Time to whip out the mountain bike tyres. Lots of time before next weekend for that forecast to change. πŸ™
  15. Thanks, that's great to hear. I'm down to 28/30, and it feels fine. Will try 26/28 on tomorrow's ride. πŸ‘Œ I run ~24/22 on my 2.9x2.35 MTB tyres. So I'm not immune to low(er) pressures. Just getting used to my first gravel bike, so easy does it. πŸ˜…

  18. 2024 Santa Crux Stigmata. Nice build.
  19. +1 never had an issue. Just had a look at my inbox, first purchased from easygis.co.za back in 2015. πŸ˜€ More often than not I use easybike.co.za (same company) as they usually have the best prices for the Oakley/Garmin products I've bought. πŸ”₯

  21. First ride on the 45mm Pathfinder tyres this morning (~32/30 PSI). It's only my 3rd gravel ride (got the bike two weeks ago). I also upgraded the wheelset, Roval Terra CL (25mm inner width) and Rova Terra handlebars (40cm instead of the stock 42cm) after the first two rides. So I'm not just comparing tyre widths. And I have no science to back up my claims. However, it feels freaking awesome! I rode pretty much the same route as my first ride on the bike which had the stock 38mm Pathfinder tyres (previous model) and it feels like a different bike! Much more confidence, better momentum once up to speed and a bit more comfortable (lower tyre pressure + increased volume). I could probably drop the pressure (I think the Silca calculator suggested 27/24, so I might try 30/28 next ride). It felt like riding a hardtail MTB (as opposed to a road bike on a mountain). πŸ˜… I ride an Epic Evo Comp ('23) on the same trails and didn't feel out of place. There's rocky patches (loose rocks) that I battle with on my full suspension due to traction, so I wasn't disappointed when I couldn't ride the odd steep uphill bit. And the best is when I get back onto the tar between home and the mountain. Feels not too far off my road bike (Tarmac SL7 Expert).
  22. Ah, I looked at some Google images for Reverb AXS and they looked a bit different, hence my confusion. Thanks! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

  24. What's that thing in the middle of the seatpost? πŸ€”
