  1. The best (or worst) is: 3:00:16 Moving Time So not even a sub 3. 😂
  2. Awesome, well done! 👏
  3. Talk about lucky! I was cleaning my bike after Sunday and noticed this nasty cut in my rear tyre. It's very close to where the "skid mark" (🙈) is on my tyre when my rear wheel locked up just after Simon's Town trying to avoid a crash (one of a few). I didn't see/hear anything at the time, other than clearly remembering the skid (managed to control it and stay upright). But I wouldn't be surprised if it was then that I nicked a piece of glass/sharp stone. No loss of air pressure as I don't think it punctured. But that tyre is unfortunately toast now. Glad it did it's job though!
  4. I see the number of finishers is down to 17972 (was well over 18,000) - hopefully a few more DQs. 😜
  5. Sorry, to be 100% clear I was referring to the PPA road race: https://pedalpower.org.za/events/onetonner/ Generally, if you do well in a "tough(er)" race, the better the chance of improving your seeding.
  6. Add the One Tonner to that list. 👌
  7. You'd be forgiven for thinking that was on the M3 downhill after Edinburgh Drive. 😂 So fast.
  8. Mine at 62 kgs from &: Edinburg 1.72km 5.5% │ 313w 4:07 Smits last 1.65km 5.5% │ 303w 3:57 Little Chappies 1.42km 4.1% │ 276w 3:12 Big Chappies 1.72km 4.8% │ 273w 4:45 Small Suikerbossie 0.62km 4.7% │ 250w 1:34 Big Suikerbossie 1.86km 6.7% │ 277w 5:55 @andydude looks like you smashed Chappies and Suikerbossie. 💪 What was your finishing time?
  9. I was just about to look at Strava, as I thought that might be what you referenced. 😀 Will post mine now.
  10. Happy to share mine, but would need to know the exact start point of those segments you listed to know what to look for. 🤔 I did a 2:47:50 from &. My NP was 227 W (but I only weigh 62, so avg. w/kg ~ 3.6).
  11. Nice group ride around Cape Town this morning with a few thousand cyclists. 👌😎
  12. Three bad crashes in & hey! Just after UCT, at the start of Chappies (!) and just before Sun Valley. Somehow avoided all and stayed upright (in spite of one of the guys who crashed on the M3 knocking my right hood out of alignment whilst doing a 360 onto the tarmac 🫣). Stoked with a sub 3 in my 10th CTCT. 👌
  13. Better safe than sorry I guess!
  14. Aero handlebar ✅️ Number board ❌️ I'm pretty sure it's there for photo identification (don't quote me). Had no issues without one last year.
  15. Yesterday there was rain forecast (Yr) for the 9th of March, today it's moved to the 10th. Expect something different every day, until the day. 😅
  16. https://www.facebook.com/cyclistsstayalive/posts/pfbid0CQMD8KuHcStNchsnH5YkimWovFjUNAgz5QyQuq1ehjxgtN2nz4yX7pnL54bYxw18l 😂 Kind of funny/sad it's assumed that part of the cycle lane was even being used by cyclists.
  17. Franschhoek Pass. 👌
  18. Is the crate included? Asking for a friend. 😜
  19. I miss seeing the grammar police pointing out the typos in the ads. 😜
  20. As far back as 2013 (possibly further, but I just did a single Google search):
  21. Good question! There's an excellent bicycle-only path that runs alongside the dedicated MyCiTi bus lane through Paarden Eiland from Milnerton into the city. Oh wait, we stopped using that years ago because it was unsafe and the city did nothing. So now we risk our lives on a highway, only to get robbed there.
  22. Is there an option to self-destruct? 💣😂
  23. I guess what's interesting with DC, is that it's a team event. So then should it actually count towards your individual seeding? 🤔
  24. And if you twist it in just a little more towards your spokes you'll get that awesome scrambler-motorbike sound effect. 😂
  25. The key takeaway is the need for a Tour de Bikehub event. 😎
