I rode the Grape escape last year, (it was around R800 entry) i cant say it was an amaizing ride (but you know us mountain bikers, if we are suffering we are enjoying it) the first day was terrible, 47 degrees celcius and no cover from Blaauberg to Wellington. Day 2 only a third of the field started, the other 2 thirds came back and finished day 3 (day 3 is not the exact same route as the argus mtb, at some stage we turn off and did an extra 10k's) A few of us emailed the organisers expressing our dissatisfaction but the response was "sorry you feel this way but thats the fee" I received an email from them a few days ago and i see they are giving entrants clothing and bags etc. Out of principle i will not ride the Grape Escape again

I will visit the hospital tomorrow and let you all know but for now he needs all your prayers, his condition hasnt changed, he is in ICU and will go into theatre at 11 tomorrow....................................................................... Good luck Chris

Tiny, i bailed on our last ride because i could feel my ankle was going to take more strain on the climbs. I rolled my ankle on a brick on a site before the DC, then i nursed it through the DC and the burger but then i thought if i dont rest it i am going to be in trouble. I have done a few high cadence mtb rides and it is feeling good

Mine has been awaiting club approval for a week now

Sorry Zak, didn't mean to get you into trouble, I chose the short route aswell at the robots, I thought my injuries were ok but no chance...I waited at the finishline to watch the dudes come across the line

well done guys, i could feel my ankle giving me trouble and decided to rather cut it short, i did 100k's and my legs are shot, worse than after the Argus, it was good to meet the others

Scary part is that they have obviously been into the shop and the guys have actually seen them. Unless they prowl around at night and do window shopping
