  1. No i was talking about Chris Hoy............ that guy has nuclear fusion plants in there somewhere. http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/imageBank/c/Chris%20Hoy%20legs.jpg and he is a scot
  2. i suppose there will be a formulae to calculate the effect of wind resistance. and tire frictional resistance. just a question what kind of watts do track sprinters put out? like what is that brit guy with LOTR dwarves for legs put out.
  3. hahahaha. that was funny.
  4. sometimes mud gets stuck in the mtb pedals, always makes it interesting. But the most i have fallen was when i started cycling on a roadbike (i later got a MTB) of all the little falls the funniest and most humiliating was..... i was fat, dressed in pink T-Systems kit and thought i was the ****. i think i had even shaved my legs. So anyway a mate and i are on my 1st over 50km sojourn around the cape peninsula, cruizing through camps bay and feeling great, i see this hot chick about to cross the road, so i up the gears, get out the saddle and hammer it past her (thats the only way you could see my calf muscles back then) while nonchalantly saying "Morning" , i turned my head to the left to check her out and as i do that an old bloke in an opel bakkie turns left in front of me, and takes out the front of my bike with the back of his bakkie. The next thing i know i am skidding across the slow lane on my ass and helmet, looking back at the kidneys of a BMW 7 series coming to a stop. the embarrasing thing was that i was still clipped in and i couldnt get unclipped, so i am lying there in the slowlane practically having s3x with my bike to try get unclipped. The hot chick hadnt even noticed me....she just carried on crossing the street. I learned an important lesson that day.
  5. i also had a problem, This is what i have changed. I could feel that my lower back was over stretching. so i got a shorter stem and added riser bars, moved my saddle forward (this meant that i had to raise my seatpost) my bike feels sweet now(i have never had a pro fit). I have also recently started pilates.......back pain gone.
  6. thanks guys
  7. thanks Velo, do you know of anyone else in cpt that does a similar service?
  8. I am in Cape Town and i need my frame resprayed, there used to be someone in brackenfell that did bike resprays called TokenFreak if i remember correctly, does anyone know if he still does bike respraying?
  9. does she really need working gears to get from the stove to the washbasin?
  10. i am 185cm , 110kg and at least 33% BF, But hey, you need a big hammer to drive a long nail.
  11. edman, isnt that quite light for a head????? what could that mean????
  12. Dave Street, that is a uber porno name.
  13. i think you underestimated your estimates.
  14. is there any form of over the counter suppliment in SA that can increase the amount of oxygen in your blood, what will happen for example if a healthy cyclist takes medication for asthmatics/Emphysema meds? also will taking an iron supplement and increasing your iron/haemeglobin level improve your training WRT time to fatigue?
  15. you ous had better hope your chicks dont find this thread.
  16. haha, i think i might just do that.
  17. jas, some of you dorks are harsh (but thanks for the attention i like it) I wasnt saying that Giant as a brand is awesome (some people say it is, some people say it isnt, all that i am saying is that i LOVE my Giant Alias 2006). I am simply saying that i purchased a bike thinking that it would be **** and it turned out better than the bike that i thought would never be bettered (in that price range) If i had the bucks i would probably try the Bottechetta's / Specialized's / %insertpricerbrandhere% and i would bl00dywell hope that they ride a hell of alot better, because they cost like 5+ times more. I also simply asked if anyone else has had there eyes opened. Whether (i can never spell that word right, did i get it?) it be on a 30,000 racing beast or a 5000 humper (like i have) As for passing lots of Anthems, it is probably simply because they have a greater market share. riding fast is riding fast, you can ride fast on a bike that feels like ****. Trust me, when i get the bucks i will get a better bike.
  18. tarmac, who isnt.
  19. I had to use that title because i am sick of creating topics that people dont look at or comment on, i am an attention seeker and not getting any responses annoys me. I ride rode a GT Zaskar Team (the old alu butted frame one) i love loved that bike, the components were old and weathered, and the frame was a smidgen too small, but hell i liked that bike. I recently purchased an old Giant Alias (2006) with much better components (for very acceptable price), let it be said that i dont like the Giant brand, i dont have a reason i just dont like it. So i was planning to transfer everything good onto my lovely GT, and burn the frame. Just before dismantling the hideous thing i decided to take it for a ride........it felt pretty good, so i took it for a longer road ride (20kms) it felt GOOOOD. last night i took it offroad, and it blew my &*()ing mind away, I LOVE Giant. The frame feels like it is designed for me, it feels supple and solid at the same time and almost effortless to ride. Do any of you know what i am talking about? Have you ever fallen in love with a bike that you previously hated? I think i will turn the GT into a singlespeed. Coz i still do love it.....just not as much.
  20. coenie your spelling sucks, is your keyboard the correct geometry?
  21. this is a chance for someone to start a business, buy an old panel beaters workshop, and start respraying bikes and "baking" them. in a proper environment. i wonder if there will be a way to get certified that the bikes wont lose their warrantee(Cycleart any input?), we all want custom unique colours, some of us just settle for less. Some moan about it like a spoiled child (i am on that side of the fence btw). If they can do it with cars and motorbikes why the h3ll not with bicycles? I am sure if the warrentee stays intact a CR@P load of more people will have their steeds resprayed.
  22. cool thanks, i guess if "i wanna dance i have to pay the band"
  23. but thanks for the input.
  24. considering my password is somewhere along the lines of Fu(k5@r% i dont particularly like that idea.
