  1. if its the section I'm thinking of,the better line is right, left was a bit loose.
  2. check out the review on the Scale 710. http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/bikes/mountain/hardtail/product/review-scott-scale-710-13-47370 Dont care what size the wheels are but that bike sounds sexy.
  3. I had a blast, some tough climbs, horrible sludge crossing but all in all the route was better than the previous years. Oh yeah, beer and the pregos at the end where damn tasty as well. Saw a herd of Giraffe charging around like mad things, was expecting a gopro bok moment but luckily it didn't happen.
  4. USN Chockie and a buff in the bag, Zambuk and other trash relegated to the bin.
  5. now thats a cool idea
  6. Im riding ardent front , ikon rear on my trail bike. Ardent is grippy but fast enough when going straight (a bit heavy though), ikon is fast and light. Ikon similar to RaRa, with a bit less grip. Don't think I would put it in front. Next set of tires will be specialised ground control and fast track mix, (Ive heard good things, and like experimenting.), but will ride these untill worn out as they work pretty well. Another good tire is Bontrager team TLR 3 (front) and the TLR 2 (rear) , going pretty cheap at solomons. Dont look like much but work surprising well and at about R600 for a set a bargain.
  7. What Mackie fails to mention about the red Route is its super tough, although the singletrack is sublime, prepare to K@k off, also watchout for the hairpins on the downhill , they come pretty fast and are deceptivly difficult. Was there about 7 times this dec holiday and loved it, Kudos to the propriators.
  8. Hi Dumela, Just wanted to say thanks for the awsome ride this morning. Appreciate you going out of your way to show us Modderfontein newbies the trail. Was a great ride, TYVM.
  9. Been riding with clipless for about 3 years, thought I would give flats a try. Bought a pair of nukeproof pedals and 5'10 freeriders and can honestly say that they are as gripppy as the SPD's. Granted you cannot pull the bike up when trying to bunnyhop it and I almost landed on my face the first time I tried (to bunnyhop that is, bike stayed where it was and I hopped) but you learn quickly to push the bike and not pull it. If you get a decent pairt of shoes and decent pedals, I dont think you will miss the SPD's too much.
  10. Got it online at http://www.cantitoeroad.com. , but its a bit thick for a phone. And yeah, it's a ltc.
  11. This stuff paid for itself, wind caught the bike and the repair stand in a compromised position and it came slamming down into a brick ledge. Tape took the brunt of it, only a few scratches on the frame. Fork on the other hand isnt looking so good. Took a month to arrive from the States but am so happy I had it on. check it out here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ynlxj7X86Nw
  12. +1 on the anthem. 26 or 29er , both rock. 29ers a bit more forgiving to ride.
  13. racing ralph, front and back. + low weight, high grip - cost, lifespan. But still, when they wear out Ill be looking for more.
  14. For short rides, where I dont want a camelback but I think one bottle wont be enough , I use the camelbak delaney race http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=75216, doesnt look cool but then I dont really give a #$#r, its comfortable enough (more so than sticking a bottle in your shirt) Has a pouch in front for phone / keys / small tools etc and a bottle at the back. Works for me. Longer rides, i.e 3hrs + , Camelbak Octane LR.
  15. You and me both,. viva la "Blue Bling", rides like a dream though, even if it looks like a pimps jewelery collection.
  16. They where concerned and offered to call the cops. Asked for hes email address so that they could get in touch with him later.
  17. As you go in , first left into the main parking , down at the bottom. And on sat a morning, the place was packed. Tracker got it, but in two hours they had basically stripped out all the contents, seats, carpets ,dash, most probably looking for the tracker.
  18. Mate of mine just had hes car stolen at Groenies. Looks like thieves have identified it as a oppurtunistic spot. So for what is worth,be alert for suspicious character’s and when you push your remote ensure your car is actually locked.
  19. Using RR Snakeskin, on stans ZTR crets tubeless, front and rear. Had no hassles. Love them, grippy, fast but...... not long lasting.

Been using Raji's for the last 3 years, they rock. Sell on CRC for a steal. currently less than 150 a pair.
  21. go to www.thesportsbasement.com the hardrock is a good bike at a good price
  22. http://www.on-one.co.uk, you will have to wait a bit they are sold out last I looked. On-one and canyon (www.canyon.com) are direct to buyer manufacturers, there isnt a middleman layer.
  23. Did you guys pump rear shock to giant recommended settings, I found I had to pump mine a bit harder. Otherwise it felt a bit squishy on the ups.
