"Christoph Sauser, also a four-times winner, finished in 9th place with new partner František Raboň in a time of 1:02.22,7. Raboň dropped his chain early on in the race and along with Sauser’s crash, it disrupted the team’s rhythm. It was a tough introduction to the Absa Cape Epic for Raboň."
There were security guards and bystanders around him (it doesn't look like it in the pic) but they were standing close by ready to give chase if needed. But yeah, i was also wondering why they did not hold him and why he did not try make a run for it.
He didn't wear any cleats. I also first asked him if it was his bike - his response gave him away when he said it was his friend's bike he came to fetch. I took a chance and said I know the owner and suggested we phone him. He then got all nervous and responded that he might have then 'fetched' the wrong bike. That's when I called security. These things happen around us everyday, by ordinary looking people. We just need to be more vigilant and alert as often criminals just 'blend' in with the crowd and hardly gets noticed.
