  1. Yes, some of the best single track you can get - Harkerville, in the forest bordering the coast between Plett and Knysna. It's right next to the highway at the Garden of Eden. Easy to find and you can enquire at the bike shop in Plett that belongs to Kevin Evans/ his dad. There are various routes once you're at Harkerville, but stick to the Red route for the real deal and quality riding, unless your going with your wife or kids. Lots of trails in George also but that's a little too far out. Enjoy!
  2. on the Cape Pioneer Trek route last year, near the Kamanassie. Taken by Oak Pics.
  3. Buddy you have every right to be seriously pissed after spending all that bucks. Here in the Garden Route our smaller (than JHB) local bike shops give us great service and treat our bikes as their own because they can not afford the cock-ups that take place in the big city retailers. Move to George.
  4. Hi Doggone, how about some feedback on your exploits and the various top 10 mtb races mentioned in this thread..
  5. My thoughts exactly. Howcome you did not see this? Be carefull to just blame the bike shop. If you could miss this, then they could too. Every story has two sides.
  6. just be carefull, that stuff will mike your tollie smaller
  7. I use both and find both usefull. 32Gi is cheaper and tasty and more like a carbo drink. I used it everyday on the Cape Pioneer Trek. Perpetuem is much thicker and more food-like, and contains protein with the carbos, which also helps on the longer days. Both has worked well for me. I suggest try both and see which you prefer.
  8. Interrested to know how long a often used mtb bike can last and how long have you had and used yours?
  9. No contest. Keep the Scott - awesome machine and perfect for racing. Take the 29er if you want to ride at the back of the bunch but have a smoother ride with your mom by your side
  10. In Western Cape = Spike Erasmus In Gauteng = Daan du Plessis
  11. Dan Grobler in Somerset West did a great job for me. He is a biocineticist that specialises in bike set-ups. A bit pricy at around R650 but he also checks your posture, flexibility etc and he sets you op on two bikes (if you have two.)
