  1. I had ITB issue recently as well, however have run for a month. It turns out you can get ITB pain from Cycling when your setup is slightly rubbish.
  2. Hi Everyone. So the end of December, I'll be going to East London for holiday and want to know if there are any swimming groups i could possibly join to get my first ocean swim under me? Also with East London beaches being one of the highest with shark attacks, should i be concerned with being confused with a seal? Will be in Gonubie for the stay.
  3. I was in a similar situation to you and got a bit bored of cycling so start tri this year and have completed 2 Olympics tri's. One thing you have to do that you will benefit a lot from is Brick training especially from Bike to the run. it seemed to help me out a lot.
  4. Hi Everyone Trust you are all well? Has anyone used the Moko or Malloom bands for their Fenix 3's? Looking at 1 like the below: https://www.pricecheck.co.za/offers/101035854/Garmin+Fenix+3+Watch+Band+Moko+Universal+Stainless+Steel+Watch+Band+Strap+Bracelet+For+Fenix+3+...?sst=garmin+fenix+3+band%2Cfkey&ssp=38&sso=1&rc=default or https://www.pricecheck.co.za/offers/101233475/Malloom+High+Quality+Metal+Stainless+Steel+Watch+Band+Strap+For+Garmin+Fenix+3+Hr+Sliver?sst=garmin+fenix+3+band%2Cfkey&ssp=11&sso=1&rc=default If so, what are they like with activities? Dankie
  5. would have joined. Doing Germiston Classic on this day...
  6. Have a chest strap from my 500 bundle so generally I do use that, however the battery is dying and didn't have a chance to get a new one before the race. Mainly, wanted to see if its normal to get the pain or if I'm just weak.
  7. Thanks will have a look. Also noticed at the end of the race that I could have tightened the strap 1 more notch which may have helped.
  8. Hi Everyone So this weekend I rode the Lionman race while wearing my Fenix 3hr. The course, especially at the beginning was rocky as MTB rides are and with in the first 20 km, it felt like the watches straps (the metal part mainly) was eating through, skin, muscle (the little that I have on my wrists) and bone. I have had this on previous MTB rides, however not this bad. Is there a different type of strap available that I can buy to prevent this, but at the same time, still use the HR component? I have small wrists, in the region of 17 - 18 cm which i'm guessing plays a part in the pain. Thanks
  9. Morning Everyone Trust all is well. I have entered the Bela Bela tri, first Ironman and road tri and just wanted to ask if its warm enough to do the Bela Bela tri without a wet suit? If not, I will have to search the internet to find somewhere to hire one in Gauteng. Thanks
  10. cool thanks... unfortunately there isn't a update to Marshmallow for this phone yet so may have to just live with this till an upgrade.
  11. Hi everyone So I have had the Fenix 3 for 3 months now and really enjoying it, however every time I do an activity, the Garmin doesn't upload automatically using Bluetooth. I have researched a bit and have seen suggestions like creating a new Bluetooth connection to the watch, restarting the watch and phone and removing the app from the phone and then re-downloading it. Unfortunately all of these have failed and I manually have to go to the Garmin Connect app on my phone and re-sync. According to the Garmin connect settings Auto Upload is active. The daily sleep and step count seems to uploaded on a daily basis without my guidance just not activities. If it helps, my phone is a Sony Z3 Xperia. Thanks
  12. Thanks Shaper for the link. Is there a way to turn on Sensors according to the activity you select? When I just use the watch from day 2 day, I turn off the Cadence searching, So when I start a bike ride I have to manually go to the settings and enable it. Thanks
  13. Sorry last question. Is it best to have the watch on the inside or outside of the arm from a hr point of view? Also think having the watch on the inside will result in less potential damages. Thanks again
  14. Thanks guys Have already enabled the auto pause function. Thanks
  15. Hi AlanD Thanks for the response. I have looked for all the settings available on the watch and in the Connect app however I have either missed it or can't seem to find it. is there a chance you may know which menu its under? thanks
  16. Another question, is Garmin going to allow Live strava segments like it does on some of the edge's?
  17. Hi People So I got the Fenix 3 Sapphire HR yesterday from Autostyle and all is well with the watch however I a questions: How do you disable the auto save function? Near the end of the ride this morning I went for a coffee which took about 30 min and when I wanted to carry the watch had saved the ride. I have since read that I can resume the ride if I scroll further done however I would rather not have this feature enabled.
  18. Yup, that looks like an MTB Thanks for the clarification
  19. Is it true that Brenodan did this on a MTB? I heard from other riders and they mentioned it Highveld this morning.
  20. Completed the race this year after giving up last year just before the lion park... Managed 3:47 which is 4:45 quicker then my 2014 time. Really wanted a sub 3:30 time, but was chuffed with what I got.
  21. Hi Guys Just want to add another good note for Finish Line Cycles in Kempton Park. Took my road bike in for a service on Monday afternoon and was told that it would be ready by Wednesday (busy time of year due to 947). Got a call after the bike was looked at stating issues that have been found and to confirm costs before starting the service. All was confirmed and Bike was ready on Wednesday for pick up. I went for a ride this morning with one of the local bike groups and the bike was amazing, with gear changes being very smooth. Thanks Finish Line. You have my full support for future bike services.
  22. Did a ride past the Boksburg stadium this morning. There was a slight wind this morning. Probably max speed of 10 km\h
  23. Agree, I have been racing for the last 2 years and have never received the race pack a weekend before in both MTB and road.
  24. Hi Beesrib You aren't able to stand in the dam as its just too deep.
  25. Hi guys How did the tri go yesterday?
