  1. Hi All, Hope you are well? Has anyone ever made a purchase with https://gobicyclestylenetwork.com/ and received their ordered items? I'm rather keen on a few designs however they don't seem to have an amazing presence and there are some reviews from SA people where it took a long time to receive their orders based on the reviews on facebook but these reviews ere from some time ago. Thanks
  2. Hi all So my wife has recently started doing Tri's and got her first BlueSeventy Trisuit. My wife has type 1 diabetes and use a pump for insulin which uses medical tubing to inject the insulin. The question we have, does anyone know of someone in the Joburg area that could create a hole in the Trisuit pockets and makes sure it doesn't get bigger over time so that my wife can attach the pump in T1? We obviously can create the hole ourselves but the part we aren't sure about is stopping it from getting bigger when the suit is stretched (putting on and taking off) Thanks
  3. Hi all, a week ago, I invested in an Elite Suito trainer and using my Garmin Fenix 3 for HR data and Disco points. On Zwift everything works perfectly (besides my legs) however the speed reading that my watch is picking up using ANT+ seems to state that my next job is a professional cyclist. The workout I did today was a 32 minute workout where I covered 52.3 km at an average of 95.7 km/h according to the values my Garmin received however that's obviously not the case. Has anyone else had this before and know how to possibly address it?
  4. November Ironman has just been cancelled...
  5. Hi All, Have you have wildly inaccurate elevation readings? I seem to mostly have it with running more than cycling.
  6. Thanks all the responses. During and before swim, all I drink is plain water so can't see that being to much of an issue. I have googled previously and apparently on forums its a common thing. According to Google though I have severe asthma and will be died in the next few hours. I do think you have a point here. I swim at Boksburg public pool and I'm not sure when they put in the chlorine so will speak to them. If it is at night, we only swim in the mornings so we would get the full brunt of it. I haven't noticed a difference in phlegm from winter where there were covers to now when there aren't. Have read a few already however many don't mention ways of addressing the issue. That's not a bad idea... may try that one
  7. I used to have the same issue and I found that I was trying to hold my breath and then breath out and back in when I tilted my head. The best thing that I started to do was exhaling when my face was under water and the breathing in when I tilted my head. If you doing this already then a coach would be the next step otherwise there is plenty on the internet that will give you tips
  8. Strange question with regards to Swimming in a chlorine pool. Does anyone feel like they struggle breathing due to a phlegm build up? I feel I have to cough a few time during the set just to get through it. I only get this in chlorine pools and not in open water dam/lake swims. Haven't swum in a Salt water pool yet however I don't get this issue when I swim in the ocean.
  9. @RogueMeister I noticed your profile pic and it looks like you are wearing a Trifactri trisuit, which I may be wrong about. I just want to ask, is it worth getting a couch or joining a group like TriFactri or MTD?
  10. Cannot agree with this more. It helps with your speed because you try and keep up with the other people or beat them consistently and the whole social aspect makes a massive difference in making the swim easier to deal with.
  11. I too will be doing the race as well. it seems that the weather will be good on Sunday from a temperature perspective, apparently will end up being 30. It will probably be a wetsuit swim but not mandatory meaning that you will be able to swim without it.
  12. Completely agree. Don't think I will be upgrading from my F3 HR Sapphire any time soon...
  13. Just an FYI, Solar charging is only available for the Gorilla Glass versions and not the Sapphire version
  14. Hi All So I did my first 70.3, Ultra Suncity, this weekend and all went to plan besides the bike were I found it massively uncomfortable being on the saddle. I have had a fit (at Triosport) and have been riding on the bike for a few months now however most of those rides were using bibs and not a trisuit (my fault for not doing long rides in a trisuit. Currently use a Huub core range trisuit) and hence didn't feel any discomfort. The saddle in question is a fizik tritone tri saddle. Should I keep the saddle and try get used to riding with the trisuit or rather look for another one and I so, are there any suggestions? Thanks
  15. Hi All I'm doing the Suncity Ultra this weekend and want to know if there is a way for family to track my progress through the race using an cellphone app? Something possibly like the app used for Ironman or 947. I checked Ultra's site and the race will be time by Finish Time. Thanks
  16. Thanks for the responses. I unfortunately won't be able to go for the Profile Design as there won't be enough saddle rails for it to connect to and the peat post is about 4 meters to long. Seems the XLab version is the only one I can go for. Now to find a second hand one somewhere...
  17. Hi All So I managed to get my hands on second hand Cervelo P2 for a decent price and got a fit for the bike yesterday. Turns out this is the only Bike I have ever had that actually fits me . I am now looking at getting a rear bottle cage setup however it seems that I would have to look at something like the Xlab turbo wing to do the trick (link below). is there possibly any other products that you may know of that will do the same thing? https://fluidlines.co.za/collections/xlab/products/xlab-turbo-wing-black Thanks
  18. That looks pretty cool actually. seems they are following the likes of the MiWay 226 Challenge
  19. Thanks all for the Advise
  20. Thanks for the advise, will be using it all going forward. I'm planning on getting the Clip on bars this month so will have some practice using them however should I not feel I'm ready, I will just go in RB format. Do you possibly have any advise on selecting the right type of bars or would it be best to go for a fitting and see which bars would be best during that fitting?
  21. Hi All So I have a Merida Scultura 5000 Road bike and have signed up for the Sun City Ultra 70.3 and would like to make a purchase of clip on bars however I'm not sure how to go about selecting the right ones. I have done about 5 Olympic Tri's on the RB and all has gone well so far however think that on the longer distances, I would benefit from the more aero position. I'm guessing that with the Clip on bars, a seat position change would be in order as well by moving it higher and more forward. I would be using the bike for normal road races as well hence the reason for clip on's. Thanks
  22. The dam in Benoni (Homestead) is usually fine for swimming however not right now as it was reported that there was a sewage spill about a month back so we are waiting for proper rain to wash it down river. Also another note, do lots of Brick training... It really helps
  23. Thanks for the help, would it rather be best going with a better known brand (Argon, Merida, Scott, Felt etc) at a similar price range?
  24. Hi All, Does anyone have experience with Red-x bikes? I did the Redhub tri 2 weekends ago and Red-x were one of the sponsors there and I was wondering if its worth looking at getting a tri bike from them. Still doing research on which bike to purchase... Link to bike specs and pricing: https://www.redx-bikes.com/velox-spec
