Just got back from Quingey which is about 15km into the stage. One thing I can say and I am not trying to take anything away from Cadel but he looked absolutely stuffed compared to Wiggy. When I came for the tour last year, Cadel looked composed and focused. Now he looks tired and all over his bike where as Wiggy looked much more relaxed and focused and concentrating on the job at hand. Cadel may have had a bad day which I dought as the mountains have not really arrived but he has been trying mighty hard to make the gaps and it could have caught up with him. My prediction remains...Wiggy will take it in Paris with relatively little "effort"(barring no mechanicals or a fall).

Look, Evans is def more worried this year than last about a overall win. He is trying harder in the stages to make a gap to try and get every second he can over wiggy. He knows wiggy will increase that gap over him tomorrow and he is trying to stay in contention. With a rest day on Tuesday neither rider is going to hold back tomorrow. I expect Evans to try a lone break away like schleck did come the proper mountain stages.

Another climber out of the tour. Going to be a lonely place up in the mountains. A select group indeed. Poor guy was knocked out. Had to lift his legs to get blood flowing to his head to wake him up. Looks like a brocken collar bone. No defending his gold medal.

without doubt, my favourite rider. maybe its his wit and humour or his never say die riding attitude. he just rocks.

So i just come back from walking the last km of the stage ending in Metz. Absolutely flat as they basically come under the 1km flag with a nice long straight and no kinks in the road towards finish line. Road has just been resurfaced and is smooth smooth. Could be a slight chance of rain as its hot and humid weather for tomorrow. Could cause a few problems should the surface get wet as its really smooth. Going with Cavendish on this one. Will suit him.

So I arrived in Metz yesturday and on the TV in the hotel there was footage of the 1963 TDF. Amazing how the guys used to get to a town and the domestiques for each team would stop at a pub and collect beers, ride back to the group and hand them out to the team. One rider had one beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Crazy stuff back then.
