Agree with Malachi. Fantastic bike and I can honestly compare against other top-end bikes (I have owned various and still have them). Find it hard to believe that some guys can bash the Prince and DOGMA after all the awards and accolades - I can appreciate that it is not for everyone but to compare it to a R5k frame is going a little far... It cost a lot but I have not been so excited about a purchase (and enjoyed riding a bike so much) in a very long time and that I guess is all that counts from my point of view. Good price Malachi - where did you get it?

They are made in Taiwan (not Japan?). Toray is world's top manufacturer of Carbon (based on the site and some reviews) and Pinarello have exclusive use of this Carbon 60.1 (60 tons per square mm breaking power I think) - used for DOGMA.... I guess it all only lasts so long until the next things comes along but it seems Pinarello has been leading the way for a few years now (can not dispute the sucess of Prince) and have to say I think (my view!) DOGMA will receive the same honours as the Prince (bike of the year for 2 years running in Italy and USA - hats off)... But, most importantly for me (again my view) - I have never been so excited about a bike than with this one and I have had and still have a few (most top end brands). Just feels and looks fantastic! By the way, price is approx R52k for frameset locally but you can get most dealers down to R45k-ish - less than the $5500 excl VAT (payable when you collect it) and shipping on most web sites. As for Eddy Mercks - I thought he sold his business some time ago to some shoe company and Colnago frames are now made in the East as well (not that this is a bad thing - best Carbon in the world is made there - ask the US Defence Force).

If it is about raising awareness how about organising a mass ride to the Union buildings with a signed memorandum and/or petition or perhaps one can be more drastic and hold up morning traffic with a few thousand cyclists and a symbolic cross for each cyclist that have been knocked over. We need more safe roads...has anyone seen the amazing dedicated roads (miles and miles of it) in Australia...was amazing to see what they have done over there...its time something is done!!!

Very impressive understanding of the process - I guess you are an engineer (personally I prefer the reviews of people and riders not machines though) - sounds like you have a problem with Pinarello which I can't help with - all I can tell you is that I love the DOGMA - best bike I ever had (or wasted money on according to you) and worth every cent to me...goes like a dream, looks the part and I have never enjoyed cyling this much !! Seems most people in the poll agree?

For what its worth I think one must take these reviews with a pinch of salt. Funny things these "independant" reviews...I normally check who advertises most in the relevant issue and then happen to come out "tops" in the review...How do you measure "comfort" anyway??

As far as lenses that fog up go...finally solved the mystery. simply adjust eyewear to make sure the frame does not touch your brows - the heat that build up behind the lens will then be able to escape...this is wear Rudy Project's full adjustability comes in very handy!! If your frame can not adjust (i.e. like most Oakley // other frames) then you will have to get lucky with the frame you purchase...

Best frames ever! Get a pair of Polar3FX lenses to use in the car - absolutely fantastic and there was some promotion on these lenses at Bruce Reyneke Cycles - R800 I think. The golf lenses are great too!

I have tried - eRudy do not ship to SA. Best is to by from local guys - they have a promo where you get a free helmet, etc. also with frame sold. See www.asgsport.co.za and look under "promotions". Clear photochromic lens is by far the best!!!

...and to rub it in Valverde is going to take yellow in Tour of Spain with it - first time out!!

DOGMA already rumoured to be Bike of the Year 2010 after Pinarello Prince was bike of the year 2008 and 2009 (Italy and USA)...enough said!!

I think the problem is you Jaco - are you crazy to even try a warranty after more than 12 months - these are shoes you are talking about! SIDIs are the absolute best shoes ever - would appologise to distributors for spreading this rubbish on the hub - the new agents have done a great job as far as I can tell!! Less than a year ago you could not get the shoes anywhere...Try looking after them better next time...
