Was great to be there this year. Pity the numbers were down especially noting that most of the riders finished before any rain fell. But I expect more people will go out again next year. Well done on a well organised event.

I'm hoping that by next year I should be fit enough and then can come out in the week and go ride it. Then I can let people know what I think of the ride and you can have accurate figures (I use 3 different gadgets to measure route length and elevation etc - gadget freak, I know ).

Ok, I know I am going to get shot down on this one. And please remember, I am not the event organiser, but merely stating my opinion. I personally don't give a continental if there's a medal or not. When I used to ride, or run, I used to do it for the enjoyment of the ride/run, being, or getting, fit and enjoying the beauty of the countryside. For me, I would much rather have a great route, quick registration and the knowledge that if something goes wrong the organisers are ready to assist as quickly as humanly possible. Further to this, medals cost money. I would rather that money goes towards whatever fund the event is supporting. Maybe I am strange (yep, I can hear many of you agreeing , lol), but I don't need a bit of metal or badge to know that I have done something good for myself and had a great day doing it. I don't need to show my friends my time or medal, I do it for me and enjoy it internally. And if I can help someone along the way, or get them to the event, or whatever, even better. My personal feeling is to say that the organiser shouldn't make any more medals, rather keep that money and use it for the scholarship fund that the ride contributes to. Ok, time for me to get shot, he he.

Chris and all at CWC - thanks so much for your support over the years as well. So great to see these kids on their new bikes as well as your input into so many cycling events over the years. It really helps make cycling feel like a large family. Here's to the next 35 years (he he, hopefully I will still be around and active, lol).

The routes were changed during the week, so it was difficult for the organisers to give the exact distances, but I am sure they will have them next year. Don't worry, as far as I know, the 70km actually ended up as about 66km. Apologies from my side on the early lucky draw. It was held after all the riders had finished as is often done at PPA events when all the riders finish before the cut off and prize-giving time. I personally feel that it should be advertised for about 14H30 or even 14H00, but the organisers can make the call once they have looked at the riding times and see how many people would have missed the cut off if it was earlier. Hopefully will see you there next year again. Really enjoyed working at the event.

Pleased it was good for you. The organisers really do go out of their way to make this a good event. Unfortunately some rides do have the merging and I agree it can be a pain, but sometimes there isn't much of a choice. But I am sure the organisers will look at it s see what they can do.

Well that is their rule and it was announced to every temp group that started. Best is to join PPA and then as you get fitter and your skills improve you will move up the seeding and should always get your result. Enjoy your riding.

Are you a member of PPA. If not, your result won't be posted. It's one of PPA's rules that only paid up members results are posted since they cover the cost of timing the events.

Once again an awesome event. I always enjoy my work there. Liz, Rupert, Niel, Barry and the whole team - WELL DONE again. To all the riders well done. It was really great seeing and chatting to many of you. Bring on 2013.

Always a good event and as far as I can remember it has always rained in the day or two before. So nothing new. I'm expecting a great event again and looking forward to seeing everybody there again.

Sorry about the early starts in the 94 race. The racing groups started the correct time, but I somehow missed the fact there should have been a 10 minute gap before A batch start and only gave 5 minutes. So all the batches started 5 minutes early. My mistake Otherwise from my side a great event. He he, easy for me to say when I didn't leave the start finish the whole time you guys were out there peddling like mad. I am always given really great hospitality when in Bloemfontein and the crew from OFM really looked after me this time. Well done to all finishers, really hope everybody enjoyed the event

Foe Fighter, I am with you, but if a client tells me that he can't pay because he doesn't have a job, but will pay from next, or two months time, I am happy. I don't hand them over then as the lawyers will come to the same arrangement and it will only end up costing my client more money. Yes, if in the long run they default again on a promise, then I hit them hard. But I have kept some clients because I am willing to listen to their problems and help where I can, even if it has impacted on my cash flow.

It is easily explained by the invisibility field all MTBs come standardly equipped with. Being exposed to the field allows you to see other MTBers that are currently cloaked. Once exposed' date=' you will always be able to see other MTBers, even when not riding a MTB. Interestingly enough - if a roadie and a MTB were to ride side by side, the invisibility field would engulf the roadie, and he would be invisible to his fellow roadies as long as he rides near the MTBer. Personally I feel that the amount of expansion / compression is so small I don't worry about it. And there is no way it can cost the government 1 mill to set the pumps as they don't own them and have nothing to do with them. They are owned by either the garage owners or the oil companies. The government is more likely to make money every time a pump is set - from the tax on the workforce etc.

While I personally don't buy pics of myself cycling (he he, I've actually got to ride an event to ge a pic taken, hey!!!), I don't think the price is too bad at all. One has to consider the staff, equipment and expenses involved in the set up. Compared to race entries and the cost of living I am sure that the price of these photos has risen very little over the past ten to fifteen years. I remember years ago thinking they were expensive, but then I seem to remember that the cost was around R 25 per pic - I think that was about 20 years ago when I was still a competitive athlete.
