  1. Also had Assos Mille GT's that had issues. They must have loads of returns. They ended up giving me a discount on my next pair, i went for a higher level which are working fine. The cheaper ones are k@k.
  2. Thanks Theo. I'm of that same opinion. Maybe a spacer between the crank and NW chainring as an example but otherwise I don't see any "real difference"
  3. Hi Hubbers, I was asked a question this week and made me think.... Is there any "real" difference between an 11 speed crank & a 12 speed crank. eg XT m8000 vs XT m8100? In other words, if you slapped a 12 spd upgrade kit and new front chainring, chain and cassette on your bike and kept your 11 speed crank would there be any detriment to the set up? It surely could only affect the chainline perhaps? Also, anyone know of any differences between running shimano / sram cranks with the opposite brands cassette / derailleur? Any detriment there too? Thanks in advance! 🖖
  4. Great comparison on chain longevity in the article below. It seems X01 and XX1 pretty much the same. My go to is x01 for your very reason. ???? https://cyclingtips.com/2019/12/the-best-bicycle-chain-durability-and-efficiency-tested/
  5. This is the route I was thinking of which I've done before in groups during the day. Little longer but still pretty flat.
  6. Apologies if this has been addressed already, cant seem to find anything in the search. I've been riding to the start of 94.7 for years now. Many riders used to do so in the past to avoid the hassle of cars/traffic etc. Wondering if any riders have any plans to ride to the start this year from Parktown North/ Dunkeld area to the start? The nice part about this finish is it would be a pretty flat/downhillish stroll back home from the finish using the highway route. (I think) Group heading out to the start would need to be fairly early for the first batch starts and a decent size group for safety purposes. We do ride out to the South sometimes where we head through Vrededorp > Fordsburg > Booysens and then to Soccer City via Booysens Reserve Rd. Bottom line: On a scale of 1-'k@k-idea' where does this sit? ????

  8. Stumbled onto the old American Classic website today and saw this? Hopefully their will be some new Amclassic microspline freehubs! ???? Anyone heard anything relating to this relaunch? https://www.amclassic.com/password LAUNCHING IN: SEP. 2021 Get ready! Something really cool is coming!
  9. Fortunately not the case. I see they have ports for rear shock lockout and rear derailleur. Finally they've come to their senses.
  10. What makes me very happy here is it seems like they have finally managed to get all those cables internally routed! The previous model drove me mad with the cables sticking out around the bottle cage area. They've also managed to get in two bottle cage mounts. Big bonus for stage races. This blur looks awesome. Nice one Santa Cruz
  11. Thanks so much! have asked a few LBS's to keep an eye & ear out. I see they are fairly cheap and available in the UK, might send one to a friend and get someone to bring it through in time without the post office hassle . I think I'm probably going to go the shimstock route as a temp solution and if it works then just leave it on Cheers Butterbean.
  12. Hi Hubbers, I'm endlessly looking for a front derailleur clamp, 28.6mm for braze-on derailleurs? Really struggling to find one anywhere ...either that or a shim adapter that'll convert 28.6mm to 31.8mm. Cheers

  14. FYI, My own feedback is that the Garmin seems to be safe on the mount thus far. So all in all no issues. Cheers
  15. My experience with them is the following: Often don't have stock of the item and thus it may take while to get delivery to your door.Normally the best price you'll find out there by a decent margin.Ordered an item once and they sent the wrong version of it. They arranged courier to collect incorrect item from me and at the same time sent the correct item to me without hesitation. My 2 cents is: if you need something quickly look elsewhere, if you need something cheaply and have patience. Go for bikeaddict Strange scenario regarding the second hand part, that seems odd, perhaps an honest mistake. I'm babbling here but I would definitely keep chatting to them and arrange a replacement through warranty. Goodluck
  16. Hi Hubbers, Looking for user feedback on the K-Edge Garmin Sport Mount. I have recently bought one for my Garmin Edge 520 and find the tension in the twistlock to be fairly loose. I have two other Garmin out front type mounts and the tension seems to be much stiffer. There is a definitive click when the mount fits into place on the k-edge but it certainly feels like the Garmin may unclick and fall off the mount very easily. My question is to other users if this is normal & safe or perhaps are there ways to adjust the tension somehow? Any feedback would be appreciated. For now I'm just going to use the Garmin tether as a safety mechanism and test it out. Thanks in advance.
  17. Had the same issue! This worked for me on two bikes. Lightly greased between hanger and frame and also if you have QR rear axle, light grease on contact points here can also help. Goodluck!
  18. You didn't read his post bru. ....Bloody duathletes...
  19. Also check your headset hasn't been loose. A loose headset can cause the bearings/headset to become pitted. That could be the notch you are feeling. Goodluck
  20. Learn something new everyday, Thanks for this. Cheers!
  21. Agreed! It is exactly the same frame, and the same Rockshox Monarch RT3 184x44mm rear shock. The only difference is the front fork travel. So if you are a wheeler dealer on the hub it may cost you nothing??
  22. Looks like this bike was never built?. Hard to see if the chainrings actually have wear on them. My guess is that it was all boxed up and never reached its destination to be built? "Fallen off the truck"? Would make sense as to why the cranks, chainrings, brakes etc are all in boxes.
  23. Both beautiful bikes! My two cents though: The thing that irritates me about the SC is the fact that you can only fit one bottle cage within the frame and with a dropper post you cant have one on the seatpost. The Pyga stage frame is really well thought out to allow for two. Another thing that drives me mad are those cables that exit the frame around the bottle cage. wtf!!!??! Those should've been hidden better within the frame? Both are small things but would swing my pick to the Pyga. Also, i'm a sucker to support a SA company like Pyga. Patrick and the team have outdone themselves.
  24. What a lovely thread to stumble upon. I present you with a newly resurrected Rogue. Maaan i've been loving this bike.
  25. Just check that the caliper and disk fit snug at the top at the disk. Like this pic. If not then i think its the wrong size spacer. I replaced one caliper on my bike with another Shimano caliper which i thought was the same and had the same issue. The difference in width was about 3 mm on the caliper itself which gave me the issue. Small margin for error with these guys... Good luck.
