  1. Hi All. Im looking for a used / damaged 24 or 26Inch FAT bike tyre. Purely for decorative purposes. Ive called how many shops in Pretoria / Centurion area, no one sells. Obviously not wanting to buy new, but most bike shops Icall the workshops do not do tyre swops on the fatbikes. Recommendations of shops in centurion / Pretoria area that work on fatbikes ???
  2. Hers an email address. If all of us email this guy, maybe it may trigger some action. koos.nel@megacoach.co.za
  3. Thanx TheoG...Ill PM you quock for contact details
  4. Hubbers, Looking for a Maxxis 26x2.35 / 2.4 tyre...anyone spotted a shop with some old stock ???? Not really to specific on the model, something like a crossmark / Icon etc. Fast roller or other brand will also do.
  5. 100% accurate on all mentioned. Mostly its whom you know...Distributors protect their long standing shops / buddies and not interested in newcomers. Its sad but a true reality of our very small SA market.
  6. One can talk about this till the end of days. ......Its simple IMO...many sellers and buyers on this Forum have not been taught the meaning of the word " INTERGITY" Unfortunately not everyone has had a decent upbringing, especially if someone wants to make a quick buck.
  7. Red Barn only allow the special trials bikes ( no seats) to ride, but not mx bikes. I used to ride there.
  8. It's simple... If you own land and want to enforce non trespassing, spend the money, fence it in and put up decent and enough signage. If I get hurt riding my enduro bike or mountain bike not knowing I'm on private land I'll stick that spike up the farmers @ss
  9. Common law and common sense aside... Have dealt with many such sellers on this forum. Unfortunately these individuals have not been taught the meaning of the word Integrity.. small word but means a lot.
  10. Different Cultures.... This will never change... Fully agree with most other comments here...Good for the emergency bits and bobs only.
  11. Morne, Yes the DTH is also highly recommended...what is it like on dirt...most pump tracks locally are dirt track, worried about grip in the berms .
  12. Thx, actually running the Race Kings on one of our other DJ bikes, but they are not going to last long on the Tar pumptrack...
  13. Hi Hubbers ( those that dare ride these DJ bikes :-) ) Looking for some recommendations on 26 x 2.25 - 2.35 tyres. Will be used on BMX track, Tar and Gravel pump tracks. Since there is ZERO availability of any DJ tyres in SA, it will have to be imported so i want to be sure when i buy, to buy the right tyres. 1. Overseas reviews rate the MAXXIS Holy Rollers as one of the best all round tyres for DJ... Anyone here with an opinion on these tyres ? 2. Also the Kenda small block 8 tyres come highly recommended, but these are hard to come by, even overseas. Any feedback on these ? 3. Has anyone imported tyres recently ? and from where ? 4. And lastly, any chance anyone has perhaps seen these tyres locally, hidden away behind a rack in a shop somewhere ?
  14. I think Most guys riding Mullets do it for the fun. Not everyone is a super X country "need all the Geo i can get" rider . Mullets are cool and they look much better than those skinny 8kg XC machines. Who cares about Geo if you not competing on national / international levels...
  15. I rest my case. This is what any buyer would expect and why the seller probably has a flawless rating. Thanks all for your comments.
  16. Thanks Guys, i don't have a Lathe but whoever manages to make another set, Ill be the first one to order a set of the brass connectors.
  17. Thx, but we will have to agree to disagree. Answering someone is plain courtesy and GOOD MANNERS, not everyone seems to understand that so ill leave it at that.
  18. Anyway, thanks all for your comments. Sorry this post was intended as a message for some sellers to contact me, and it escalated into a mini rant ( certainly justified. ) , its clear that if sellers do not respond to adverts timeously, it is frustrating for potential buyers.
  19. Fully agree with Lowball offers, but plain courtesy also does not cost anything. Again, the seller wants to sell his goods, he should be putting in the effort of communicating with all potensial buyers, but in my case relevant to this post, it was a simple " Hi, Im interrested, whats you number please" Followed by no feedback for more than 2 days.
  20. Hi no hard feelings. Its just that when someone sends a message and the user was online that same day and the next but still no response, then there is no excuse to getting back to someone later. If i sell something or someone contacts me, i flag it on hold immediately...this way all the other poor buggers don't have to sit and wait for me to mark as sold a few days later. That's the point i was trying to make.
  21. No I am not. This is NOT about "losing a deal" its about the inability of the seller to communicate properly which leads to people "loosing deals" Now if i comminicated with the seller and made a stupid offer only to then loose a deal, that would certainly not be grounds for a poor rating. A deal or potensioal deal starts when an advert is placed. The time and effort a seller puts in to answer a potential buyer is part of the service they are rated on. If they don't want a bad rating they should answer all enquiries timeously, mark product as sold or on hold or rather advertise in the Junkmail. To many "couldn't care less" sellers on this platform. Not everyone understands this simple concept and I will not waste time explaining this.
  22. And that is why they then get a %^&** rating from me
  23. Maybe all members need to pass a compulsory test "how to buy and sell" on the Interwebs to stay on this platform :-) Common sense is actually not that common when it comes to advertising something and not knowing how to deal with the process. As expected, seller eventually replies with "sorry sold yesterday" response as could be expected. I think the classifieds section MUST have a compulsory PHONE Number requirement. No number, no advert. If you want to sell something on a public forum, then be prepared to share your phone number or advertise in the junk mail. Maybe time wasters should be banned for a month or so, so they can wake up. :-) LOL
  24. Hi Hubbers, 1. Mypro 2. DeRosaKing Please guys, if you advertise something, respond to inboxes otherwise you are wasting potensial buyers time. It may also make things easier if you have your contact numbers on the adverts...just saying :-)
