  1. Thank you I appreciate the info. Great result.
  2. Yes I could, I could read the info what is required to qualify and to be dick here based on your snottyness to get a single answer, so could the guys going to worlds but Im not going there.
  3. Nope I do not hence me asking. If you guys dont know, then just say so instead of avoiding the question.
  4. Not sour actually curious how he made it to the final or was it simply 10 okes on bikes going for it and he won? Stop being so defensive
  5. Yes, I read that, I asked did he go through a series of qualifying rounds to get to the final?
  6. Imagine going to a Dr and there is. 33.3% the diagnoses is right.
  7. I dont disagree with this at all, actually basically all of it I agree with as I have walked that path every day with Calvin and still currently since 2005 through his whole career even when he didnt have hair under his arms at school. this is why I say to many many Europeans that if a South Africa "makes" it, people dont understand what it took. Many have no idea. Like zero. It also takes a special personality to do that. However, the sacrifices he/they made, are not what 98% are willing to make or do make. Regardless of what they say
  8. Sure but you also never posted with he said the skill is good. But anyway this isnt the point. The process should be this in my view: Both parties are int he wrong and 2 wrongs dont make a right. If it was then I would be with my ex still heavens forbid. The criteria needs to possibly change to allow a simpler or less aggressive points system. Riders need to understand that its not easy, it takes committed and skillset. Both parties need to abide by their rules set out by both rider and federation. Injuries and illness happen. It's a tough sport but then have a clause for this possibly. Riders need to understand this is a freebie handout process. CSA need to understand its tough for South Africans to qualify and to raise to the level needed And much more. From an enviroment I have had riders and grown men crying like babies on the phone to me cause they weren't selected for the Tour de France, why? they never filled the teams criteria, there was no "ill pay and go" it was simple you weren't good enough. You can argue it is the same but it is not, it's hi performance sport, Yes you can learn there, but you going cause you full ready and you learn mostly before the big event not at it. How many WChamps have these riders done? They would all be learning I presume so from that how many have improved their WChamps results progressively each time they went? I dont have this info result wise but this would be a good indication of what they learnt, went home, worked on it and went back for a better result.
  9. I did not post this It was clearly tongue in cheek Move on mate
  10. I think it's best we start with the need to stop making things up here and saying Theo's skills have been dismissed. Lets stick to facts.
  11. If you mean by bashing saying that they did not qualify then I am guilty 100%. Excuse me for following rules, criteria etc that is set out. Ive been on the **** stick end of it before with zero lube from CSA and In my job the the line in Hi Performance is between success and failure is so thin that it goes either way. So yes, if there is a criteria you abide by it. Is it perfect? maybe not, it never is but dont come here and bitch at me cause I asked "did they qualify? if not they dont go" thats not bashing that is a fact. There has been a history of legal drama with selections, Robyn de Groot is a prime example of someone going to Olympics due to X reason and taking Cherise (at the time Taylors) place. Criteria broken or mismanaged. Options are: Improve the criteria Make athlete go to the events to qualify not say that that the level locally isnt good enough for whatever reason. Take responsibility as a athlete to know what is expected and needs to be achieved The list goes on This whole approach in South Africa to performance related things like this is exactly what is wrong with the SA culture, everyone wants a participation medal and why the pathway to success and development is hardly ever achieved.
  12. DSTV in fairness reading threads here, will have an advert during their runs more than likely.
  13. Dont think anyone is attacking him, not sure putting potential words in peoples mouth is good for the thread, as you said, you dont get to moderate what people say here... I have knows him since he was winning 50cc SAMX titles and have from the side line followed all he has done to now and its impressive, Ray Charles could see that and especially with his speciality of skill he has grown into and the chances he has had and family support. He chose to specialise and grow into a skillset, I still think he would go very far in mx but he never and became successful at his chosen now. Respect. this thread is not about bashing, it's about a factual point of if you said this, you got that.
  14. Agree they all have different and skilled skillsets. Some of those skills are not qualifying but backflips are. *I'll take my own coat on the way out*
  15. Top 60 Elite men if I am correct and then top 30 for the Final
  16. Cant remember seeing GM standing at the bottom at the end of a 142nd place run for Theo laughing at him during a WC.
  17. Na, I would give Frankie money or support for anything she needs that I could help her with just cause I think she is a cool person and has always been respectful to me, I like seeing her do well.
  18. Here we go, I am pretty fond of Frankie so happy to help her. I have a apartment in Ransol in Andorra if she needs somewhere to stay but its pretty far from the event venue
  19. You just answered why they should not go. Thank you for understanding eventually what the level is at World Champs and where level of the SA riders are in comparison.
  20. Right up there with delusion of pathway development
  21. Yes, correct, a "few" results compared to a 30year old or older South African comparing his results on why he must go.
  22. I was talking in general as whole collective.
