I have said it before and will say it again: you can only sell high end bike parts to fellow cyclists…. The market is actually relatively small. So in a way we somehow allow bike theft/ bike jacking to continue or at least assist in maintaining a market for stolen goods. Its not like stolen tv’s or electronics or phones. Only cyclists can use the stuff. If there are any doubts don’t buy it and for those that do… you are an accomplice to a crime somewhere. You know when you know….. thanks for raising this.

Visma had a plan that worked when there were multiple GC contenders in the mix. When you are left with two world class riders alone against each other it is unfortunately man on man and you will be left with no other strategy but to get in the proverbial ring and knock the other guy out. The team “sitting in the pavilion” cannot help you much. I didn’t really see JV get in the ring this year but perhaps my view is a bit harsh.

Court hearing in February next year. What happened there is an absolute travesty.

Lekker route. We do it almost every weekend. I would start at the top of Unie Road in Stellenbosch though and avoid Old Helshoogte road part. Follow the signs to Corkscrew…. All the way up and over. First split on the other side keep right…. Left takes you to Skyfall which isn’t really nice except if you like pedalling down! Keeping right will take you a little further up…. Contour around. First descent to your left from the beacon is Fynbos. Great trail. Leads you to Banhoek berms and down to the farm road. If you turn right there parallel to the Dwarsrivier towards Oldenburg you can cycle all the way to the back of Banhoek, stop to fill up with water at the bridge…. Continue to Niknaks and then Klipwerf, Afterburn etc…. Coffee stop at Banhoek Chilli Oil…. Over Helshoogte. Turn left at the ugly new developments gate… through the pine forest and finish with Conrad Stoltz’s jumpline into Uniepark. I don’t think there are many rides in SA that can beat this one…. Enjoy😀…. make sure you have Zapper on your phone. You can pay at the sign at the top of Botmas. Honesty system

Thanks…. Anyone know about options in Cape Town area I could try first?

My sons pedal on his brand new SLX crank worked loose with stripped thread being the end result. Can anyone point me towards someone who can help with a thread insert…. It is on the drive side i.e. right hand thread. I really don’t want to throw the crank away….. In the Cape Town area if possible…. But I can send it elsewhere if needed. Would really appreciates any help.
