  1. Stolen bikes only have value to fellow cyclist…. So somewhere in the chain “we” provide a point of off set for these goods. I have wondered about this a lot. Really sorry to hear about your loss.
  2. You can pre arrange meals at Kromrivier. Other than that very few options.
  3. Winter in the Cape…. About par for the course I would say
  4. Coming down in BUCKETS here now…. Tough call…. But the right one
  5. I am seeing my life flash by before my eyes….
  6. What time to do the start this morning?
  7. We will be there for the Paarl race…. But with all due respect: 2pm start on a hot Paarl day is going to be torture. Especially on the northen side of that rock. Not a great idea.
  8. What really frustrates me about this whole safety situation is that the stolen stuff (be it bicycles, parts, equipment) obviously gets circulated amongst “us”. In contrat to other stolen goods (generally speaking), it only has value to fellow cyclists… we need to ask ourselves how we stop that market from existing.
  9. Three generations…. Massive privilege. Enjoy the journey.
  10. I do not agree. Was I brilliant day out. Will be back again! Hot and tough - yes - but well worth the effort.
  11. I can really vouch for the Epic Evo. Previous bike was 150mm travel front and bike. With proper tyres the Evo is as capable. And it climbs so easily. Closest to one bike that can do it all in my opinion. Will work very well there.
  12. Where are these bikes going and if stripped and sold for parts where is the market for those items? There seems to be a lucrative market for these stolen items and/or bikes. Sadly, as long as it can be sold it will be taken. Curious to know where it all ends up….. anyone with more insight perhaps?
  13. Its private land. On Jonkersdrift farm. Unfortunately not accessible currently
  14. I services mine a few times now. Very straight forward and simple. Plenty of videos around showing you the steps.
  15. Due to circumstances beyond our control my son and I won’t be able to participate next week. Its a great disappointment to us both after Having had some much fun at Jonkershoek (our first enduro). I can confirm that there is no need to feel intimidated and that the vibe is absolutely amazing!! if anyone wants to take over our entries (one or both) please pm me.
  16. Not true…. Synthetic motor oil is a perfectly acceptable alternative. Just a matter of viscosity
  17. …dont think so! Cotic BeFe 26er in action
  18. Which of these would be the better option for Fox lowers lubrication oil?
  19. Go park at Old Bethlehem and take it from there. Turn off into Kylemore and keep left.... you will eventually see the gate and parking lot on your left. To do 40km plus you will probably have to do a few loops and then keep going towards Boschendal.... alternatively park in Stellenbosch and start by cycling up Botmaskop... do Sky Traverse.... into Banhoek through the farms.... up Niknaks and on and on. Park at the top of Unie Road and follow the signs taking you up to the Corkscrew. Enjoy!
  20. Seems like a good price. Where did you buy the supplies.
  21. Stumpy for sure. For the fun factor.
  22. Burned down in 2009, 2015 and now 2021 ????
  23. http://lognet.saeon.ac.za:8088/Dwarsberg/index.html ????live weather station Wind speed currently 18ms.... if its around there in thw morning you might want to consider rolling over ????
