  1. Both aren't even worth reading while on the pot!! Best thing to do is get 4 buddies and take turns buying Procycling or Cyclingsport. Each person keeps it for a week and then passes it on. Last person gets to keep the mag. Works out at 20 bucks for the month each, (cheaper than the local ........)
  2. Hi All Rounder, The accident on Bottelary was certainly horrific. I also drove past the scene. You said that there was no car, did you miss the horribly mangled yellow golf lying about 5 m off the road?? Can't imagine what happened. There were also fire engines on site putting out quite a big fire, don't know if it was started by the car in the accident?? As much as I hate speed cameras, Bottelary definitely needs one, as there are often people travelling at 140kph plus with other drivers barely driving 60. A recipe for disaster.
  3. If the Powerbar team who are sponsored by Cervelo and can't get replacements when they crack their frames what chance does a normal customer have??? Cervelo obviously like having "their" riders riding Giant?????
  4. Wouldn't it also help if there is a strong crosswind??? Same reason that in a time trial a rider won't use a disc in the front, it would be taken with the wind and steer the bike off line. The back wheel with the riders weight on it isn't nearly as badly effected. I think this setup was also far more common in the past when deep sections tended to be a lot heavier than they are now. This setup allowed the aerodynamic benifits of a deep section and the weight of a normal wheel. Bit of the best of both worlds.
  5. More info please?? How do you go about entering? Costs??
  6. How about this Plan for 2007: 12 crazy riders 6 tandems for first 120km Hop off tandems onto single bikes for the climbs then a couple riders back onto tandems for the pull to the finish. Will just have to have a really really organised backup crew!!!!!
  7. Obviously Dan took the whole "don't shave before a time trial" very seriously!!!
  8. A while ago I took my giant mtb in for a service, and the guys at the shop noticed a crack, They contacted the suppliers who offered me a replacement frame or the value of the frame off an upgrade. Whole process took less than 2 weeks. It was a fairly cheap frame, but didn't have a problem. As for cracked frames, I also cracked my Fuji racing bike and they replaced it within a week with a newer model (definately a better frame) at no cost. And they did it within a week.

Hi There Neve done an I.M. myself but definately plan to someday. Did a lot of triathlons while at school but am focusing on the cycling at the moment. As far as my experience goes the swimming is the easiest part as it takes the shortest time to complete and if you aren't going for the win the whole aim would be just to get through that leg in one piece. (and not at the bottom of the sea!!) One thing I have found is that swimming ability does improve quite quickly, once you get into the pool. The adventure racing background should definately help as you are probably used to racing for hours/days on end and you should be strong upstairs! Have you ever run a marathon?? Other than that good luck
