Today I have been to the local bike shop. There I saw a Giant TRC composite 1 and a Scott CR1 at a good price The Scott is a trade in and is R16000, the Giant is new and R21000 which is the best buy.

Is daar enige dinge wat ek moet weet oor die fiets, ek het nou al so bietie oor hom gaan navorsing doen en daar het so 4 ouens wat gekla het van die raam wat gekraak het. Ek weet dis nie die ligste fiets op die mark nie, maar dit pla my nie op die oomblik nie. Ek het 'n klein begroting en ek dink dis 'n halwe bargain. Ek kan die fiets vir R13000 kry, dink julle dis 'n goeie prys?

Advice needed - best hardtail value for money?

Hi Guys and Girls, Need some advise on best value for money 29er hardtail mtb, casual rider, budget = +/- R 15,000. Looked at Merida Big 9 500 or XT, Momsen AL 429, Silverback Sola 1 or what else can anyone advise me on like Scott etc? Looking forward.

R3500 budget best buy opinions please

Good day all... I am looking at buying a hardtail MTB for my wife. She will ride occasionally, and almost exclusively with our children so she wont be doing extreme downhills and singletrack or a fast bike that climbs well????. I however want to buy her the best bike our budget of R3500 allows.... So far I've considered: 2nd hand.. Raleigh Nomad 40 Merida Matts 40 New: Scott Apect 680 Axis A70 & A90 Avalanche ATX 250 Giant Revel4 Silverback Stride 20 The problem with the Nomad is that the frame (large) might be to big for her - it si 21' and she is 1,76m tall... The problem with the Merida is that the deal sounds almost to good to be true and the bike is in PE, me in JHB and on gumtree - would you advise to EFT money to a person you never met and hope to receive a dreambike by post a week later? All and any advice would be appreciated. Regards Cornel

I've recently upgraded my Scott Spark RC to 650B. I find it's an improvement and at the sime time blew some new life into a nice bike that would have gone to waste. (One get's nothing for 26'ers these days despite the spec and worth of the bike) What do you think and or what do you do with that high spec 26'er in the garage?

I am looking to build current HT parts over on dualie. I'm reasonably convinced that I am going to go for a Anthem X 29 frameset, having listened to some people and read some reviews, etc. Don't think there's much else that can match up or are available in framesets. Spez, Rocky, etc all seem to have a top-of-the-line-carbon-framset as their only frameset option. Other options are Momsen DL and I presume Scott will be an option as well. Much as I'd love one, I am pretty sure Dale frames will be a bit steep and then you'll very likely feel obliged to add a lefty as well. Aware of Booth and BSR, but... not entirely comfortable with what may be backup/support/warrantee issues should it be required. Did I miss an option you guys are aware of? (Unfortunately SC is not quite an option... ) Have I missed something important? Should I look harder at something like Scott? Opinions?

Hi there, I am interested in getting a MTB (I am a beginner). I was looking at the Scott Aspect 940 & was quoted R6500. Also I happened to find a Scott Scale 70 (2011) in a pawn shop selling for R7000. It seems in an ok condition - a couple of scratches & the tyres will probably need to be changed in a few months - the previous owner definitely used it & it was not just sitting around in his garage. What would be a better deal? What should I be looking out for on a second hand bike? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks G

Hey, I'm looking to upgrade and I am considering a Scott Spark 950 (XL, 2013) or Ghost AMR 2955 (XL, 2013) for R19,000. According to the sales guy the Ghost is on special and normally retails for around 25k and has better components (Based on a quick Google this seems accurate)? I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes down to comparing components and brands, any advice? Thanks in advance.
