  1. Kinda remeber the guy I purchased the crank mentioned it but it was 3 years ago so just guessing
  2. Hello all, It is Friday! So I just want to know for how much I can sell my chainring for in order to get a 30T one instead. Please see the following pictures: http://i.imgur.com/rD4rVSr.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/tUV55nX.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/uaaG8Tt.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/xzeNd8Y.jpg As you can see the chain itself is still in a very good condition, except for some signs of rust here and there. Also while I am on the topic of chainrings, would you guys recommend I stay with a Race Face NW or should I try another brand? I won't mind buying 2nd hand either, as long as the chainring is in a good condition. Thanks guys. ~ André
  3. We have two Gaint Expressway 1 folding bikes. I want to change the gearing to better meeting touring needs: Currently, the cassette is specified at 11x30 and want to replace it with a 34T cassette (R330 olympiccycles.co.za). I want to replace the 52T chainring with a 38T to 42T (5 bolt - 130 BCD). Replacing the cassette seems to be easy via olympiccycles.co.za in Claremont but they seem to have a problem with getting a 38T to 42T (5 bolt - 130 BCD). (It does not have to be Gaint originals). Not sure why. Do you know of any Cape Town southern suburbs bike shop that can assist? I was able to find a 39T at $18 from Aliexpress. I hope you can assist. BTW: I only learned yesterday what BCD meant
  4. hi all I currently have a 26/38 chainring combo with a 11/36 casette. This is pretty standard and works great for 99% of the time. But, I did the Sani Dragon last year, and plan to do it again this year. For this race I want to go with a smaller small chainring. Will a 22 small be compatible in a 22/38 crank setup? (because I read in one of the classified of someone selling his 22 ring because it is "incompatible"). I look fwd to everyone's advice and opinions. happy cycling Francois
  5. Wolf Tooth is now shipping Drop-Stop® Elliptical chainrings for Shimano's XT M8000, Shimano's 110 BCD 4-bolt road/cx, and Race Face's Cinch Fat Bike Cranks that need a special Reverse Dish chainring for the correct chainline. Click here to view the article
  6. The simplicity of a one-by chain ring setup has always appealed to me. Less cockpit clutter, no chain suck and, for the weight-weenie in me, some grams lost. When the Kitted Wonder Ring arrived for testing I decided to take the plunge and convert my own steed to 1x10. Click here to view the article
  7. The clever guys at cSixx have recognised a need in the marketplace for a lightweight, well priced and easy to fit chain guide, aimed at the single chain ring market. For those already running Narrow Wide, think of it as a little added security for your 1x setup, and if you are a trail / #enduro rider this should really be a standard upgrade on your bike! I would even encourage the XCO racers to also consider the guide, as a dropped chain on a lap race could mean the difference between a win or a lose, even if you're just competing to beat your riding buddies. 8. I have recently replaced my chain as the previous one had worn to just over 0.5% (measured with a vernier so hopefully I got it right). This was my first chain replacement (the bike was new) and I didn't replace the cassette or chainrings as they did not appear to be sufficiently worn. I'm unsure of total mileage but it was probably about 2500-3000k. Almost immediately when putting down some power the chain slips and often jumps off. I have since cleaned off the factory grease and lubricated with the oil I normally use but the problem is just as bad. I can't say exactly where this is happening but I think it is the bigger chainring because the problem does not happen when I am on the smaller ring. Could the larger chain ring be too worn with so little mileage? It really does not look bad (the teeth are a little flattened from riding over rocks, etc but their shape still looks good) and none of the teeth appear to be bent. Components: Chainring: Shimano XT FC-M785 28-40T (2x10) New chain: Shimano XT HG-X 10 speed Cassette: Shimano XT 10 speed (not sure of ratios) Has any-one experienced something similar?
  9. Good day Hubbers, We would just like to let you know that we are currently fighting a legal battle against the people that assisted us in manufacturing our chainrings. They have gone behind our back and started selling our chainrings with their name on it, it is the exact same design, tooth profile, engraving, anodising ect. We had no beef with them up until last week when they decided to up our manufacturing costs by more than double, we now understand why!!! ACC Billet Engineering (Pro Billet) decided to take it upon themselves to use our designs that we have paid for and worked on for the past year and go ahead and make some for themselves. We discovered this on the weekend when we walked into one of our clients shops and saw this "NEW" locally manufactured chainring on a bike. After closer inspection we could notice that this was our chainring, we spoke to the shop owner and he gave us the invoice he was presented with and we saw all the details of the company that we are using. We are not sure how many stores they have approached and sold "their" chainrings to but if you do get approached by "ANGIE" please do not buy anything from her/them. We have put time and money into our business and the fact that they do not have any business ethics and take other company property for them selves means we will not take this sitting down. Please guys if you know of anyone else who has one of these chainrings, please let us know ASAP> I have attached some photos of the chainring we found and one of ours so you can see the resemblance. Thanks The KITTED Team
