Yes, I mix Cadence Revive with low fat milk - I swear I can feel that stuff working about a half an hour later.

This begs the question, if I can find it in chocolate flavour will the benefits be exponentially greater?

Lucky Luke, my favourite Evox shake is lime flavour (2 a day), but I have noticed that I just feel better after a race when I drink the chocolate flavour. Maybe is has something to do with contents of the flavourant, don't know, but I am sticking with the chocolate. Also heard a lot of cyclists raving about chocolate. Will be worth it to try the effects on you.

Ok so low fat milk goes for R10 per liter? And you drink 750ml per ride that costs R7,5 per shot + Nesquick which I have no idea what it will cost more. And I see recover max from usn will work out about R16,6 per shot.So you will save a lot of money

Ha, I get that there are recovery benefits to drinking milk, and the sugar helps to replenish lost carbs.

I just think there have to be better formulas out there than the accidental benefits of drinking a steri stumpie.

Basically I'm looking to back the most likely formula and to my mind it's the one put together by the sports scientists, not the product department at Nestle. Seems to me the chocolate milk companies only want to make a tasty beverage - one aimed at the masses, full of tons of sugar and preservatives, cheap milk solids and lord knows what else.

If my dietician told me to drink that I'd have to think twice about paying her for that advice...

So you going to rather pay a small fortune for something containing dodgy, untested, unregulated substances in a container plastered full of unsubstantiated claims? yeah rite... I rather go with the steri-stumpie. No evidence linking it to any diseases/cancers etc ....

If you are really scared of the wholesomeness of your food rather get some cocoa, low fat/skimmed milk and mix it yourself.

Remember to take your 8 to 10 portions of fruit & veg as well... A diet high in fruit and veg has been linked to better endurance and performance in sport.

You're basically saying you'd trust someone who creates a formula, in collusion with the marketing department, with the express aim of selling something to you over someone whose only vested interest is that you pay them for advice. That's a bit skewed.

Theoretically, shouldn't pure whey isolate be lactose-free?

How many pure WHEY ISOLATE products do you see on the shelf? Read the label. They contain Whey concentrate also.

Blonde, but sharp... "Registered dietician with a BSc Dietetics and Masters in Nutrition degree from Stellenbosch University. She is an active member of the Association for Dietetics in South Africa and registered with the South African Health Professions Council"

And her name is ... ?

I volunteered at UCT sports science and I'm going with their recommendations. Steri Stumpies and milo were not mentioned but Cadence was.

yep, I eat tons of raw veg and eat quite a bit of certain fruits. Apparently beetroot and beetroot juice is pretty good for oxygen transport.

I've never looked. If that is the case, isn't the description '100% Whey Protein' somewhat misleading?
