I have the white Momsen design ones on my riser bars :) and they are awesome!! :) just nice to have that other option but they do catch trees and they do hurt when your chest meets one on a technical single track at 30km an hour :)

I used to ride with the Ritchey WCS ones (super light) and they are great for an alternative hand position. If you only crack out shorter rides (<2hrs) then I wouldn't bother, they do seem to pick up bits of tree and trail, and its can be annoying changing gears or braking when you're settled into the barend position,or get suprised by a crazy dog/walker...etc. I actually find my climbing improved without barends as i could change gears quickly depending on how much i want to push without changing hand position again and again.

Currently I have the same Momsen Designs - they are made well, fairly comfortable and have lasted longer than my previous ones which were very cumfy Easton carbon ones, but they were not rugged enough, fell apart after various falls and bike handling.

I could not get Cane Creeks but found BBB had some which were very similar to the CC one.

Prefer the CC / BBB (small but sweet) type as they have a small section extending behind the grip and just enough in front.

IMO you dont need such a long piece in front like the full size (looong ones in front only). Without a small part protuding rearwards you loose out on another hand position option.

As other posters have said very usefull on long rides to provide alternate hand positions for comfort reasons.

These ones?
