I just saw on shop.titusti.com that they are selling the aluminium Rockstar frame for $1222 with a Rockshox Monarch RT3.

I dont know if they ship to SA or how much it will cost then, but I don’t think R8175 is too shabby (exchange rate of 6.69)

 

I mailed shop.titusti.com yesterday and go t a reply this morning. They do ship to SA at a cost of 475USD. That is alot but if you add it to the total it is 1697USD (R11352 @ 6,69 $/R). Adding import duties of 15% adds up to R13055. Still a great deal me thinks!

Add 14% VAT and drop the 15% duties and you're correct. Bit of a wash at only 1% difference, but you forgot SA VAT, so would be in for a 14% surprise! No duties on bike frames - tariff heading 8714.91 "Frames and forks, and parts thereof" is duty free.

One On in the UK have this for GBP 750 ex VAT, with GBP 45 shipping to SA. Add SA VAT and you could get this delivered here for less than ZAR 10,500. Not bad.
