totally unofficial, non sanctioned SS ride

as there is no official sanctioned authorities regarding the true format of single speed riding, except for Grant Usher that is, the time has come for another totally disorganised, disorientated, unofficial and unsanctioned, at your own risk single speed ride. Again.

 

For obvious reasons, (thus not stated) the date must still be determined.

 

so far:

 

Where: Groenkloof -fountains

what: about two hours riding, possible "time Trial" with some rewards. Also an "Dis-Orienteering" course with watering holes (totally unofficial) along the way (the guy with the most stamps wins -maybe, or maybe not).

who: Only riders on single speeds, penalties for anything but steel or Ti. Convertions will be tolerated.

entry: pay/ bribe your way into Groenkloof and then bring the best of your drinks cabinet. Opened six packs, Johnny Walker Red and Klipdrift (you should drink better) will not be accepted. Maybe a small kitty for other admin stuff (but this is also unofficial).

When: TBD probably over Easter or on the first day of May.

 

So for a day of utter chaos, sign up or pitch up.

Agreed. But! A rule like necking a beer or a 30 second penalty for riding a bike with a shock is labelled under "fun" in my book. A rule like the manufacturer's label should be less than 30mm x 20mm is no fun at all....

Did I mention that fixi's score even more points, possibly? THe general idea is to make all the rules so complicated that the judges, in their sober?! state, can make any ruling that seems plausable, without it resulting in court cases and flaming on the hub. Remember if you can intereprete the rules accurately when sober then they are not complicated enough, and thus not going to be any fun. See it as a counter-culture to being serious like the UCI
