Hubba's 24 hour course test

Recommended Posts

Me and PF will be there, she's doing some serious miles for the Sabie X and MWNN is coming out of his short lived rest period with a 4 hour wopper! We should be there from 6 o clock onwards

For the 24 hour okes I guess the first lap pace is not critical but more important to check out the route, I would suggest that after that everyone can just go ahead and 'train' at whatever pace they want?

More important of all those that are keen to go does anyone actually know the route? And I don't mean have you seen the picture, could you go out and ride it?

If someone is able to get/make a GPS track out of it from Google Earth or some other source then I can take my Vista along for us to follow!

Cry BG owes me a kiss and I've made arrangements to go to Breedtsnek and torture my legs on those climbs. Anyone want to come with and do some "hill" repeats?Evil%20Smile

Got this from one of my guys:

"Howzit

In the attached jpeg I overlayed the previous route (which I know well) on top of the new route which makes it pretty easy to analyse now. I'm now 99% certain I know the whole route.

2006 route is green.

2007 route yellow.

Red lines are climbs.

Yellow is flat/downhill.

Blue is water.

The big loop that extends from the north to the south west is the only track down by the river so no way to get lost there.

The no.1 I marked on the map is the biggest question mark but it shouldn't be difficult to work out based on distance between landmarks.

No.2 I know where it is but for some reason can't picture it in my mind.

Will know it when I'm there.

No.3 - we've always headed straight down the hill (green line) to the tunnel drop-off under the N14. Never knew there was another path that went along the highway but we'll find it.

Hope that helps."

We have a 4 person team for the 24hr:

greatwhite

slick

SOslick

SOslickfriend x2

They will all be there for the route recon.

We're meeting at 7AM and will ride when everyone is ready however long that takes (never know with the ladies :P). Will park close to the clubhouse area.

PS. Can someone bring a camera for the newbies on the drop-off? Big%20smile

I think the ticket place is open early enough, are we doing coffee afterwards?

Edit: Let's get there from 7 to ride at 7:30.
