Merida96 vs Anthem x2

The two bikes are the Merida96 1200D 2011

Giant Anthem X2 2010

i was told both are very good handlers, but in the end there always seems to be the better one..

 

please help with this decision.

BOTH are very good bikes but at least 60 pc of my weekly training group have the Merida,the rest split between the other brands.This should help with your decision.

Giant is one of the most expensive stickers on the market - compare components and shocks, then if you prepared to pay an extra 35% and want to get ripped go for it....Nothing wrong with their product and after sale support.

I have the 120-1500 and what a pony!!!

both are established brands - you really have to take them both for a spin and decide then. obviously there is the "cool" factor. The "rule of invisible thumb" states. Get the one that look and feel the fastest

 

maybe post the specs of both

The anthem is a much softer ride and nobody will be able to argue that.. but in the end they are usually both well priced

 

the Giant is by no means overpriced and from what I've seen the Merida is well priced and well specced usually

 

very difficult bikes to compare but I would say the Merida is more racey with a hard feel more a full XC machine as opposed to the Giant with a softer ride for marathons dont worry about positions in the epic look at the average race the field will be filled with Giant and Merida 2 good brands

Merida for short xc races, giant for marathons and stage racing - especially if your over 20
