Schnavel Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 While out riding yesterday, my rear bottle cage almost came completely off my bike. This is not the first time either... I had carbon bottle cages (Came with the bike), but during one race near the end of last year, the rear one sheared off and shattered into pieces. I'm tired of having to continuously check if the screws are tight when I leave the house... Anyone had a similar problem? Any solutions?
SCHWINN LOVER Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Torque to 5nm = torque wrench(R1000.00)Loctite thread lock = R80.00 and will last forever(you do not have enough nuts and bolts to use up the bottle)A spring washer or two will also work a charm unless you are a weight weenie in which case you are looking at a extra half a gram!!
