Hi All, can anyone tell me where I can get some Maxxis High Rollers LUST 26 x 2.1 in the Cape Town area? Thanks

I imported a set from the UK some time back cause I could not find any here. Spoke to the importer, think it was Probike and they said they don't import that size, only the downhill sizes. Then I was as Greg Minnaar Racing in Pmb a few weeks back and they had some 2.1's in stock. Did not check if they were tubeless though. High roller 2.1 has not nearly got as much volume as say a crossmark 2.1. They look more like 1.95. So they are a bit less forgiving over the bumps but still rolls very nicely and corners unbelievably well. So if you don't come right give Greg's shop a ring.

Don't do it!!! One of the worst tires i have ever ridden on! I've heard that the 2.3 is one of the best tires around, but it just does not work as a 2.1. You will feel every rock you go over on you rim, and it corners badly - i'm much slower on these than on crappy crossmarks on track that i know well!

Thanks all. Based on the very limited availability and the comments about the 2.1's I think I'll just stick to Nevagals instead. Thanks again.

Crossmarks... I take it you ride XC?

 

I went from Nevegals to High Rollers, much less rolling resistance and very close to the level of grip the Nevegals provided (and without the 'dead' portion that the Nevegals had)

I do run 2.3 at the back and 2.5 in the front, so not quite sure how the 2.1's would react, it is surprising that they would differ that much between 2.1 and 2.3's though - interesting....
