skidd Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 (edited) Starts at the parking lot at the Market Theatre 18h45-19h00, group ride through town, relaxed pace, any bikes welcome, stop for refreshments at Arts on Main precinct halfway, we expect to be done riding by 21h30-22h00. This ride is going to become a regular monthly event. The organisers are open to route suggestions or any other suggestions. What important is to get as many people as possible and this can be the start of something great in Joburg. Is there gonna be some sort of police presence or escort ? Best check to make sure your life and bicycle insurance premiums are up to date before undertaking this venture.

I have commuted through town and I ride through town in the daytime and at night. It's not safe, just like riding a bicycle on the road anywhere in SA isn't. But it is fun, especially in a group at night when the streets are quieter. A lot of fun. I won't lie though, it will be COLD tomorrow night
I FLY Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 We did a early morning weekend sightseeing ride through JHB CBD a few months ago. One of our friends runs a bike touring company. No problems. Not sure who was more wide eyed with amazement - us or the residents
