Tiny K Posted June 3, 2011 Share Agreed..... it is a bit of a toss up hey? price of item vs insurance. On one hand I'd say - R1000 for item and R50 p/m for service maybe. If you have this certified, will it bring the insurance premium of the bike down? Caerus Posted June 3, 2011 Share I think the price might be in the region of about R2500 for the unit, but as you say it needs to be way cheaper to be succesfull, and the possible monthly subscription also a cheap amout, I would say even R25. From what I understand its a once off payment on some of these units. Im sure the insurance companies would welcome such a thing. Mada3400 Posted September 3, 2011 Share what u need is a tracking device that you drop down the tube the seatpost goes in, has something sticky on it so it doesn't rattle around, then to charge it i have seen these things that look like disks that you just put you camera/phone/gameboy on and it charges it,no cables, so you don't have to take it out.
