I see that they are riding with Aus and Bel team members.

 

How do they get past the communication barrier ?

 

Also, have they riden long together as a team ? Surely the more time you spend together, the more you will feel like putting it on the line for your team ? Or is it a case of you being paid - just get on with it ?

There is little money in women's cycling - it has to be a passion!!

 

Some of them have been riding together for a while, some are new. It's the task of the team manager to set out the goals and make sure they support each other. I.e. support Rochelle for the sprints and support Ashleigh for GC - but GC has a higher priority so if Ash is placed high on GC the team will focus on keeping her there.

 

They are all professionals and should be able to put their own agendas aside for the team goal.

 

They are all fluent in English, so that's not a problem.

The SA Ladies as do all the other countries are in the hunt for UCI points to improve their country UCI ranking so they can send MORE people to the Olympics.
