Bryceland - seperated shoulder! ... I doubt he'll be racing!

Ouch! pity, hoped he could continue his good form. Any news on Greg's wrist?

practice summary from vitalmtb:

2011 Windham World Cup DH Qualification Results

Guess what? Just before qualifiers started, the skies opened up and haven't let up since. Lightning delayed everything and while the lift was closed, some riders were scrambling in the pits trying to decide whether to run mud or dry tires. It's a World Cup after all, so there has to be rain, right? Right. One of these years they'll have to host one in a desert just to break the pattern. The forecast for the rest of the weekend looks sunny, but you never know...

Aaron Gwin did it again! He smashed the rest of the pack by a commanding six seconds with a time of 2:29. Gee Atherton, Brook Macdonald, Troy Brosnan, and Justin Leov round out the Top Five. For reference, last year's winning time was a 2:28 by Gee Atherton.

Josh Bryceland was unable to ride today due to the shoulder injury he sustained during Thursday's practice session. Because he's ranked in the Top 20, UCI rules allowed him to roll through the start and still be eligible to compete on race day.

After winning practice yesterday, Floriane Pugin reaffirmed her intention to win this weekend by smoking the girls by nearly four seconds with a time of 2:59. The "French Flying Banana" was followed by Rachel Atherton and Tracy Moseley. Note that last year's winning time was a 2:49 by Rachel Atherton, so track modifications and course conditions slowed the ladies down a little bit.

jeepers ... i wonder what gwin is doing to be this dominant! Nice to see Peaty back up there near the top ... but this course is "old school" so it would have suited him.

Nice one for needles
