The clamp I had, I broke off to make more tighter and then went to the local bike shop and got normal "rider" clamp.

Leonard Posted August 8, 2011 Share Use a carbon assembly grease. The grease has a fine grit in the mixture preventing your seatpost from sliding.

eddy Posted August 8, 2011 Share I have the same problem with the seat post on my MTB. It is a Alu, Thompson post in a steel frame, using a Hex-bolt clamp. The post and clamp are both the right size for the frame according to specs and fit appropriately. No matter what I do, it drops about 5- 10 mm during a ride. The seatpost on my roadbike has stayed firm after using a carbon paste manufactured for the purpose, is there anything similar I can use or is there a different solution ? . Leonard Posted August 8, 2011 Share CCD, where dows one find this? Most reputable bike shops should have some for sale or they could help you out with a bit used in their workshop.
