Hi Everyone,

I currently have tubeless conversion, done by a friend, on my mtb - uses bmx tubes DIY style and not stans rim strips.

I had to top-up and didn't remove the valve and fill it that way. Long story short, like last time I'm struggling to get the tire to seat properly so it can seal when inflated with a compressor, which shops in CT (southern suburbs) will do it for me as I'm gatvol? and at what cost?

If you did it the 1st time - you can do it again!

Um thanks but no thanks, frustration levels hit new highs and I always end up getting stans all over myself and the local BP's forecourt.

Get some yellow rim strips, and stick that on. Insert the tubeless valve you got and there you go. Pop the tire on and pump.

You may wana try BBT Rim Strips. They done by the guys who do Ghost bikes. You can check them out on fb. Its a plantic strip that snaps into place so you don't have the reseating issues like with the rubber ones.

But to be honest, I did every conversion under the sun and I reckon I totalled all the cash I spent on that nonsense I could have bought an entire UST wheelset. Best thing to do is not bugger around. Invest and ride with out having to worry about conversion failures!

Are you using a tubeless tyre?
