32GI

For those interested, here is an excellent study done by independent researchers and published in the "Journal of Nutrition". The study compares the Exogenous Oxidation of Isomaltulose vs Sucrose:

http://jn.nutrition.org/cgi/content/full/137/5/1143

"In summary, oxidation rates of ingested ISO were only 59% of the oxidation rates of ingested SUC, presumably because of a lower rate of digestion of ISO. Ingestion of ISO resulted in a slightly lower insulin response compared with that of SUC, whereas the glucose concentrations did not differ after consuming the 2 CHO. A lower CHO delivery and small difference in insulin may have resulted in higher glycogen use and a greater fat oxidation in the ISO trial than in the SUC trial."

It is interesting to note that after absorption into the body, there is NO difference between Isomaltulose or sucrose. Both are made up of glucose and fructose molecules. The Isomaltulose just takes longer to be digested and absorbed into the body as monosaccharides. To properly compare the two forms of carbohydrates one would just have to adjust the ingestion rate of sucrose about 40% lower than that of Isomaltulose during exercise to achieve the same outcome. Basically what that means, is making your high GI drink less sweet and ingest it evenly over a higher time period. I would guess the "correct" rate of ingestion differs for everyone and must be tested for optimum performance.

Topwine you really do whine allot :)

I have been using 32gi for almost a year now and swear by the stuff , and yes I train pretty hard and try watch what I eat , ask any pro athlete and they will tell you that nutrition and training is key , 32gi unlocks the door.

Where else on the hub have you come accross a person who is prepared to share their advice and knowledge so openly about their product MDW is very transparent and is not hiding anything from anyone.

Im my opinion you have a problem , maybe your wifes books can help you.

If you dont like the product return it for a refund as stated on the packaging , or have you used it all?

Yes, dude ("TOPWHINE")....you really have a problem.....do you maybe have connections with USN, PVM, Energade, Powerade, etc....?????

Relax, have a sip or 2 of 32Gi and go for a ride tomorrow.... :D :D

Here goes, but please remember, this is not my recipe, merely something I came across as an example in a patent registration. See the link provided before. I just gave the recipe as a joke and to stir the tempers up a bit of those that have interests to protect, :P

90.05 g Isomaltulose

6.36 g Citric acid (anhydrous)

0.55 g Vitamin C

1.19 g Trisodium citrate (flavouring agent)

0.26 g Opacifier containing E 171 dye (Food colourant)

0.09 g E 415 xanthan (polysaccharide to increase viscosity)

0.09 g E 466 Na carboxymethylcellulose (sodium salt, electrolyte)

0.30 g Sucralose (zero calorie sweetener)

0.02 g E 102 dye (85%) (colouring agent)

1.09 g Grapefruit lemon flavouring agent

Not fair guys....this is the only way for us all to understand a product and its claims better. I think topwhine is doing a good job....and that the supplier is going out of his way to try explain and analyse the product as best he can.

Most of topwine comments make sense....and his concept as I see it....Gi32 is a 'slow' release where others (hi Gi)are more instant, but once used via the blood they are basically similar. It is becuase of this that you can ride for an hour on water..its the food (low Gi) already in your body (broken down in liver etc) that powers you...but when that runs out, I find I need a faster 'sugar' to keep me going hard...

Low Gi is healthy - no argument - but in high intensity riding/racing/sprints/hillclimbs - I find I need to get access to my 'sugar' quicker.....hence the whole debate, does low Gi work better for our sport.
