slowpoke Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 PI, i'm not from the cape and i wan't there, but surely int he indemnity and entry form somewhere the white line rule would've been mentioned/stated so why were the riders so far over said white line? another point of view could be that the PPA is indicating that they acknowledge that the officials can't be everywhere at once so they aren't undermining the authority of the officials - merely supporting them. to all the white-line crossers and supporters.... just remember, if the shoe fits, wear it

I have always said it and I'll say it again, if the riders transgress on the day, DQ them....even if it means the whole bunch I don't care, BUT.....if the race official that is in charge of the race, like in this instance Sunday, didn't feel it necessary to DQ anybody after the race, you cannot go 2 days later and advertise on your website that we are now gonna DQ you because we saw some pictures on the Hub etc etc....it doesn't work like that. That is the problem I have with consistancy...
slowpoke Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 ok, but then is it not hte officials who are being inconsistent with application of the rules, not hte PPA? and if so then surely the PPA is entitled to enforce said rules when they find out they have been transgressed. ie consistency should start and end with the officials failing which the organisers needs to step in when they become aware of the issue and in this instance they reacted as soon as they did become aware of it.

Its like me putting on my website that i'm going to disqualify graeme smith because I saw him transgress. Its not my place to make that call.
