Tell me.. since this wheel only has 16 spokes' date=' a how many hole powertap hub will you use with this sort of wheel? Are there Powertap hubs with 16 holes or would you use a 24 hole or more? [/quote']

32 holes - use every second hole. The question begs to be asked - are you planning on using the powertap for training or racing? If just training, why not tried and trusted 32 holes rims with Mavic Open Pro rims or something like that?

Eish... I know... but on a limited budget I need to maximise the Powertap, so I would like to use it to race and train, hence the questions about using a deep section wheel for all purposes...

Daft I know, but I'm a line crosser and can't help myself....

Bontrager purchase the PT blank(with out holes) drill it themselves to match the 16spoke lace pattern on the Aeolus wheel . As I said I'm no wheel Guru about weight of wheels or how the spoke pattern works. All I know is that Bontrager got it right with the Aeolus to build a low spoke count wheel but also make it very durable!!

But As Bruce said in one of his posts , Its a very expensive set of wheels and with our road conditions all it takes is one pot hole and you screwed!!

You keep talking about our roads as if I'm riding in the Cape where they have trenches so deep you have to go other side of the white line to bet around them!

Its seems your @ss is itching to buy wheels!!!!LOL

We just trying to save you alot of moneyif something happens!

lesson 1 in road cycling : you need 2 sets of wheels 1 for training and 1 for racing. you never see all our hero's in Europe training on a 30K set of wheels , even if they get it for free!Ouch

Hey... I'm sure I saw a documentary on him and he was training on 80mm wheels!
Yup, I think it was when he was still riding for Phonak, he was out riding on 808's or something. I wonder what wheels he used for racing then?
