Go Scarpoooooooooni.!

Tiralongo wont win the giro, but Scarponi can, all that matters is he took 20 odd seconds from all his rivals with physical time and bonus seconds.

Surprised Katusha didnt try much, Rodriguez is a very "iffy" rider, when he is good he is magnificent, but otherwise he is not too remarkable.

Rujano looked good as well, had no trouble responding to everything.

Cat 2 at km 224.6, 9.9 km @ 6.0% gradient to 1087m elevation, to Lago Laceno

Yeah, we should start to see a pattern emerging soon, yesterday everyone in contention was present and correct but apart from Scarponi, no-one tried anything of note.

I think Androni will try something today, they have so many cards to play in Rujano, Sella, Serpa Perez even Chavez again. The team is thick with tiny climbers who could all be stage contenders for today.

After Hesjedal narrowly missed out on the Maglia Rosa on stage 6 (if I'm correct) Cippolini was quoted as saying,

"English directeur sportifs are good at everything except being directeur sportifs."

I wonder what he said after yesterday...

Basso admits he could not follow Scarponi as the finish was not his favourite technical course.

Clever racing by Scarponi yesterday to get a 2nd place time bonus.

The pink jersey remains with Hesjedal but Rodriguez closes to within 9 seconds and Pozzovivo is within a minute of the lead too, just behind Scarponi in GC.

Nice fightback by Hesjedal to keep the pink jersey.

It wasn't looking too good at some point.
