Nuke some baby potatoes, with a little salt & margarine to taste - maybe even a little garlic.

Put them in a ziploc bag when cooled.

 

Good to go.

 

I carry my energy bars & bananas in my camelbak and just get my ride partner to reach in and grab them on the go.

 

Else, just stop and enjoy the view.

I'm also there on the Woolies bars, though some of them can get a bit gooey. Lotsa nuts and seeds are excellent. Sesame bars are lekker. Peanut brittle gives a good kick if necessary. Otherwise trail mix, mixed nuts or similar in a zip-lock bag (they're usually in those cellophane bags that rip and spill all over.

I use the PVM bars, my favourite are the chocolate coated ones but they are not suitable for hot days. The PVM bars are also hard to chew and swallow while gasping for air. I am also looking for a replacement, maybe I will try that Whasp gel.
