jimmy hardtail Posted October 28, 2011 Share The cost price of a frame alone is actually quite small and they will have estimated how many frames will be replaced by warranty and built that into the cost of the original bike. So they dont lose really. If one in 50 frames cracks then an extra 200 bucks per frame will cover it. Or just stand up on the bumpy bits and it wont crack. . . marshace Posted October 28, 2011 Share Thanks for all the comments, mine a XL frame and seat post 400 mm and is now where near limit. Some reackon that seatpost beyond its limit will result in horizontal crack of seat tube just above weld.In my case it was vertical crack just next to weld on top tube. Not sure. Awaiting feedback from rep.
MrJacques Posted October 31, 2011 Share One of the reasons I won't buy an Anthem second hand (the warranty is only for the original owner), and why I won't buy it new either, because who would want to buy a bike that has such a reputation for breaking. A pity because they are actually really nice bikes. Hope they have fixed the problem with the newer ones.
