Why dont you use the the maximum pressure allowed for your particular tyre. Ie as per the info on the side wall.

More pressure means lower rolling resistance.

 

 

lower pressure give more grip and less rolling resitance on rough terrain, i.e the total opposit than tarmac, Iver run tubed tyres as low as 2.2 bar, rear and 2 bar front. at 87kg.

 

Depends on your rubber though some tyres will like lower pressures even with tubes, others have a tendency to fold/squirm in on corners and you wipe, a safe pressure should be around 2.5 bar rear 2.3 bar front.
