3rd test:

Pakistan opts to bat.

85/9 against England. Day 1.

If they can manage to make 85 twice, it should be enough to win - considering the way England play spinners at the moment!

There's some truth in that...

Pak 99 all out and now Eng 15/2..... who is preparing these pitches?! Game will be over my tea on day 2. If Eng lose and we beat NZ will be go number 1 by the ICC cut off date and get the annual cash prize!

Batsman have lost the ability to work for their runs. I, for one, am glad to see bowlers dominating proper cricket...

And I'm sure Gerald Majola and Ali Bacher will have no problem 'administering' such a cash prize...

Glad for the bowlers but the whole series has been low scores and games not going near the distance. A better mix would be ideal.

there wouldnt be much left of the payments once those two administer them!

Yebo!

Shorter forms of cricket definitely influencing batting styles.

Couldn't agree more. Looking into my crystal ball I can see two separate forms of the game:

1) 20 Over stuff with specialists such as Gayle, Malinga, etc. People with skill getting rich.

2) 5 day cricket featuring people with a passion for the sport.

Personally it means that I can go watch the test matches as a fanatic and the very limited overs games with my wife. Best of both worlds

A lot of teams do have specialists for all forms althought there is overlap. i.e AB, ect. I think Eng grosely underestimated the opposition as well as being completely over rated. They are currently no. 1 but have played their last 7 at home so i think that stat is screw. Also their Ashes win against the weakest Aus team indecades is not the achievement it once was. Pakistan blow hot and cold so i would not be surprised to see them score 99 in the 1st and then 400 in the second. Either way the highlights will provide some brain food whilst on the indoor trainer later ...

England, like Aus, like us, like India, like pretty much everyone out there have a very weak belly to the batting order. Batting to number 10 means nothing if numbers 7-10 average 15 and have not been proven on the big stage. A team set up that way WILL collapse frequently because they contain a number of stroke players. On a flat deck and on the right day, the tail will wag, but on a fair pitch, the bowlers will have the last laugh.

The shorter form of the game have made people specialists.

I cant explain why they would have Morgan in their side as he is a specialist limited over player - another example is Warner - although having a fast scoring player could let you bat the other team out of the match in a few hours. On our side i think our tail isnt to bad. Steyn is much improved and agaisnt SL they did ok. out problem is the middle order exposing them to early. anyways im hoping for a Paki win just to see the look on the SA B team. I mean Eng

Nicely poised at stumps.

Eng with a single digit lead with 4 wickets in the bank.

Fighting for pride, the English.

Pakistan can take more risks as they have clinched the series.
