Sambit Bal makes an excellent argument imho regarding the need for consensus and Shebeen he points to the unpunished nastiness between Smith and Kohli as an example as well.

A great fight back by England's last wicket pair  :whistling:

27 / 9 became 58 all out

Andrew McGlashan's article makes for good reading if you're supporting the Black Caps. McGlashan: Swing special prolongs England's dire summer down under http://es.pn/2FWuBw4

That said Boult and Southee bowled spells worth celebrating. Two of the finest swing bowlers in the international game.

I'm sorry (not sorry) but Steven Smith is a complete moron.

Just take your medicine cowboy.

Australia can't complain about any judgement or harsh treatment.

Whenever there is any issue in cricket behaviour, the common denominator is that the Australians are involved. The double standards are ridiculous.

KG still got a level 1 punishment for this.

Smith is moaning that contact is contact, but when Johnson and Stokes appealed their actual shoulder barging they got off scott free.

What karma should do here is take out half the aussie bowling attack with injuries, especially since what they got away with at the last test here -

Cape Town, 2014 - 3-63 and 4-32 v South Africa

"You'll be sitting up in the viewing room when we're batting and he'll go 'feel this' and it'll be a little bit of bone in his knee." With this graphic description, Mitchell Johnson summed up the pain Harris was enduring by the time of the third Test against South Africa at Newlands in March 2014. That he kept going only endeared him further to a group of players who had become used to Harris going the extra mile. As the shadows crept across Cape Town on the final day, it had looked as though Michael Clarke's team had nothing left to scoop the final wickets. Harris himself felt he was done for, but a final cajoling from the captain had him charging in for one last tilt at victory. Looking back at the match, it is impossible to quantify how Harris found the will to do it, but his bravery was rewarded when Dale Steyn squeezed a yorker on to his off bail, and then next ball Morne Morkel did not stretch far enough forward to cover another full delivery that clattered the stumps. In that moment, Harris felt no pain in his knees, hips or shoulders. All was elation, and all was reward. It is the best way to remember him.

Harris was almost unable to walk after that game -  spent 6 months off, played for 2 months, got injured again. spent 6 months off, played a single game and retired.

Hash and Elgar going well at the moment. Hash in particular looking solid. Another session from the both of them could give AB, FdP and Temba a licence to cut loose and play more aggressively but let's wait and see how things pan out.

Another magnificent century by Elgar

And a flurry of runs by Abraham fast forwarding the game big time

This is not going to well. Ever since AB lost his wicket it has been a bit of a revolving door. And what's worse most of them have been to poor strokes from our batsmen rather than particularly good bowling from the Aussies. Here's to hoping that Rabada can make it to stumps and then hang around tomorrow. The closer we can get to 300 the better. We will have to bowl well tomorrow regardless of our final first innings score.
